New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

roughly a month :) what other docs are you missing and they provided you with timely update? when did your friend's cousin submit his app to WA and when did he transfer it to vic?

they asked for a reference letter and updated CV. She submitted last September 2011 and asked for a transfer Feb or March then got her LOE after 3 weeks.

for documents to be submitted in applying for a business class visa, can a notary public certify documents as true copies? or there's a specific place where documents should be certified? thanks in advance!

hello everyone...a friend of mine said there are changes in the 456 visa application. is it true we don't have to send the original passport anymore? please update with the new procedure for 456 visa application like what are the changes if its true.

@wingcharm

How about trying for another student visa? This Filipino girl applied for another student visa and is currently studying English and working part time as a Carer. Thank you for the input. I hope readers of this thread will take that on board.

Sorry, had to add this in..... Are you sure you have assimilated into the Australian community, spoke, lived and breathed English while you and your classmates were doing your 12 months or so conversion course? 'bigguest' said taking the IELTS should not have been difficult at all.

yes I planned to take another student visa by studying an English course but I don't want to get the "no further stay" condition which is common for an assessment 3 who wants to take an ELICOS exam less than 10 months. However, if there's no other option i might just take that path as well. :(

I hope this won't flare another argument but the problem of the IELTS takers, not just the students but even the permanent resident or native speakers is that they might be good in English but they don't have enough strategical skills for the test. So even if they are considered fluent in English, there is no assurance that one can easily pass the exam in a breeze. So to pass the IELTS, you should atleast know the basic strategies and it's now up to the test taker if he/she can apply it well or not.

Hi all! anybody here for the august intake in IHNA Melbourne? Please message me...Thanks~! :)

Hi guys!!

I just want to ask cause Im an RN since july 2010 but with only 3months trainee experience in a Specialty hospital, and ever since I've been wanting to work in Australia, and before an agency told me that atleast I need a 1 year experience to qualify for bridging program instead she advised me to train there for years, i think what shes offering to me is that I study and work there, I mean is this even a good choice?

And even If i had only 3months hospital experience, will I be able to pass the Bridging program?cuz its damn so expensive!!

I mean Which one is better the BP or the long years? What's the best place in australia to take BP? In terms of passing rate, and high possibility of employment.

And also, anyone here from PHILMAN, i heard theres no cash out? I mean after BP all of their clients landed a job there?

Another thing,What if I choose to take the long course which is years for you to be an AU RN, and someone wants to offer me a working visa, is this possible?? Im not really choosy when it comes to work so i can work in a nursing home but I do have scoliosis and maybe they won't hire because they may think im not fit to work.. :(

I hope you cn answer my queries, cause this all new to me and I really want to work as a nurse in australia!

Goodbless to all the nurses!!!:))))

hey ilove83030! I checked with diac's site and there are no recent changes:

-if you require a visa label affixed to your passport, you must include your passport for processing. However, if you are being evidenced at an alternate immigration overseas mission or you are able to travel label free, please include a 'certified true' copy of your passport biodata and visaed pages with this application. The passport must be valid for at least the duration of your intended visit to Australia;

-your passport or copy of relevant pages as necessary;

have you submitted yours already? have you started with the e-course? i will probably do mine all within this week though i know the latter will take daysssss to accomplish everything. how's the e-course like?

you're for the august intake in perth, right? :)

hey faith! count me in! have you started with the e-course already and passed your 456 visa app? i still haven't but will do within the week.

i have a question with the mode of payment in 456 visa, is the money order the same as manager's cheque? the mode of payment in the form doesn't include manager's cheque, there are only bank cheque and money order. help!

Exactly right and very well expressed.

As I said previously about passing the IELTS test:

There are actually two things here

1: You have to learn English (Not just the parrot phrases you encounter at review class !)

2: You have to learn how to pass the IELTS test

Doing 1) is much easier if you are in an English environment.

Doing 2) is difficult whereever you are, especially if you are lacking 1)

For myself, being 100% fluent in English, I doubt I would pass the IELTS test if I tried right now.

If I wanted to pass that I would need to take practice tests (that are available online and/or get specific IELTS tutoring) and practice until I am familiar with the strategies involved.

Hi everyone! Anybody here for august intake in IHNA aside from cummulus and I ? :)

hi vanessa! hmmm.. when was the last time you followed up with ahpra? i don't know if it's true that i heard some got theirs already? when did you apply again? is there any way of transferring it to other states? lighten up, dear :)

thanks. transferring not an option anymore, my CO told me that. no choice but to wait. feels like forever already.
