New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

im going for perth :nurse:. i will pay the elearning fee soon cos i haven't received an invoice number yet for the enrollment (technical problem in issuing invoice numbers) so they change the payment mode. i need to go through a bank to settle the 1.5k that is usually done online.

hey dear, i heard that ihna requires serology tests. do we need to give them titer results or can we opt to have the shots instead? can you please pm me if you have the sample of their vaccination forms :) pretty please :) thanks!

I have just looked over the latest application form for international applicants.

Looks like AHPRA are now clamping down on applicants with long breaks between finish of education and applying to Australia.

Applicants must explain on CV a break of even 3 months and explain this.

Applicants must show that they complete the 20 hours of continuous professional development for the years they have been registered heres the link for professional development and go to pdf file - this form with these conditions is dated 12 March.

As for this agency, they are now asking for nurses with 2 years experience. There are no AHPRA rules to have 1 year, 2 year breaks! this is not good, loose skills.

However if nurses have these long breaks or have little experience, you can see this lessens their chances of getting a job and them their money.

I also have checked out the NSW hospitals that were actively recruiting anybody that was qualified and they are now requesting 2 years experience preferably from nurses with experience from english speaking countries.

hello ceridwyn... yeah, i read that pdf file in aphra's site about continuous development. i guess they are toughening the tunnels now...quite sad for "late bloomers" like me..

regarding that agency i was referring in my previous post, they haven't replied yet what's their rationale for this 1-year gap from experience to the time of application in AU.

do u know any better agencies that can help us with our application that is, at the same time, willing to support us financially??? anyone here knows, guys? help!! ;D

Hi there! I sent mine on September 2011 in WA and up to now, I'm still waiting for my LOE. I recently sent them my updated CV and reference letter, which is now one of the new requirements in AHPRA. Just like you guys, I'm patiently waiting for my letter :) don't lose hope, I guess good things happen in the most unexpected way :) I cannot reply to your PMs because I haven't reached the minimum number of posts yet :) you can contact me at [email protected] :) thanks

Hi everybody! i just want to ask which campus is better for IHNA, melbourne or perth?

anybody here who is taking their july and august intake? please respond :) thanks!

has anyone of you heard about the UNisa offer? they are willing to waive your AHPRA LOE. meaning, you can start their bridging program while waiting for your LOEs. well, the downside is, you have to finish 4mons of BP :)

got the good news! august intake in ihna melbourne woooohoooooo! =) just waiting for the offer letter. the interview lasted for 5 minutes =) i have lots of question.. 1) the offer letter is what we'll be sending immigration in order to process the visa, right? 2) has anyone paid the elearning thru credit card? 3) when will ihna give the CoA? is this after we're done with the elearning? :)

for those who will go to IHNA, is it really required that we get their accommodation? it seems as if we need to confirm and accept their accommodation? any inputs pls :)

Hello fellow nurses! I'm about to apply for 456 visa and accdg to this thread, below are the requirements:

1. VISA APPLICATION FORM

2. VISA APPLICATION PAYMENT (MANAGER'S CHEQUE)

3. ORIGINAL & PHOTOCOPY OF PASSPORT

4. CERTIFIED COPY OF OFFICIAL RECEIPT OF MEDICAL SCREEN -- For this one, has the rules changed? Some say that you should wait for the embassy to tell you to undergo medical screening. Is that true?

5. CERTIFIED COPY OF PROOF OF FULL TUITION FEE PAYMENT

6. CERTIFIED COPY OF AHPRA LOE

7. CERTIFIED COPY OF IELTS

8. CERTIFIED COPY OF BANK CERT

9. LETTER OF SUPPORT WITH PASSPORT AND CTC OF SUMMARY OF PAYMENT -- What does this mean? I don't know where to get this

10. CERTIFIED COPY OF COE -- I am not employed as of the moment. Should I tick self-employed rather?

Are there any other requirements that I missed? I hope you guys can help me out. I've been posting a lot lately and nobody was replying. Thanks :-)

Yes. IHNA gives you an option which campus and intake to choose if its not full yet.

Downpayment 1.5 AUD elearning + 1k of the tuition.

Rest of the tuition to follow before you get to Australia.

I used bank draft today for the downpayment.

Not yet. Can't process 456 until confirmation of enrollment is received.

Immunizations: DPT, Hep B + Serology OR Documented evidence of Anti-HBc, MMR OR Serology, Varicella OR Serology, BCG Vaccination/provide any available evidence of previous TB Screening, eg Tuberculin Test or Mantoux Test, MRSA Clearance (Meningococcal Vaccine for Nurse West Agency Nurses only).

By the way, I don't know much about the show money for 456 visa. Is it okey just to obtain a certificate from my parent's bank that they will be supporting me or do I really have to connect their bank account to my name.

Please please reply. :nurse:
