Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

does anyone know if con's september intake still has slots?
my dilemma is that i'm expecting an interview from ihna and if they will give me the good news of passing, then i'll be qualified for their august intake in melbourne (hopefully). but i'm expecting con's offer letter as well since a friend of mine got hers already and we applied at the same time. now, if con's letter comes within the week and ihna gives the good news, i'm quite confused which school to opt.. we like con since it's in sydney and the bp is a lot cheaper (10k vs 11500k ihna) but they won't guarantee an intake date yet. =)

It has been asked in the past of all overseas students to pass the IELTS at 7 first sitting after graduating with an Australian degree - perhaps ask through email AHPRA this question.
On the other hand, if you have past IELTS fair and squarely in India, once before and you intend to do a one year in an Australian environment, why would you worry about passing IELTS again? It is after all for the safety of the Australian patients.
thanks dear. are you for the august intake in perth or melbourne? what are you processing now? is the interview easy?
im going for perth . i will pay the elearning fee soon cos i haven't received an invoice number yet for the enrollment (technical problem in issuing invoice numbers) so they change the payment mode. i need to go through a bank to settle the 1.5k that is usually done online.
anyway, about my interview. i was asked tell them about my work. then i was asked about meningitis and what is BLS. totalling 5 mins. i can't say its easy cos i was tense but the interviewer, a lady is very kind and talks clearly. there were even times when i didn't hear the well and request her to repeat it. she even typed em for the listener to understand.
anyway, just calm down and remember to relax a bit. btw its a video conference.

so when were you interviewed dear? and did they give you an option which IHNA branch to go? coz i'm thinking of the melbourne branch though most forumers opt for the perth branch. after the results, you need to pay for the tuition fee plus online e-learning right? and you did this thru bank draft, dear?
are you processing your 456 visa now?
as i've checked with ahpra site, IHNA has a transition date on july 1, 2012. does this imply that ihna is still legal to hold bp for international students? tia =)
hi pinkmarj! do you happen to know someone who submitted her application to AHPRA-WA last August 2011 and already got her LOE last november? How come September applicants like you and laydee-rn haven't received your letters yet if august applicants got theirs last november already? i submitted mine last december 2011 to WA.
Hello there, have you received your eligibility letter from AHPRA-WA already? How long did you wait?
