Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

If you have long gaps of over year, then according to the Australian competencies, you should be doing 20 hours of professional development to keep up to date, if you have not practised for at least 3 months in 5 years then you cannot be considered for registration......
It has always been no more than 5 years break even with the state boards and keeping uptodate by having 20 hours pd every year - working in nursing or not, has been the go for the past 3 years, AHPRA are just realising this discepency that IEN's do not do officially and what is expected of Australian nurse officially.(we are audited randomly) and it must be written down with evidence in the correct format.
In your gaps you too will have to explain what you did for professional development with your nursing, especially in the gaps in an updated cv. As this is expected of local applicants.
Hey, how did you resolve this issue? Any news?Since I have to submit additional requirements, i just attatch the page with the credit card payment slip on my docs and wrote a letter regarding it. I suppose I'll just wait for their response on my email. I tried emailing APHRA on how to resolve the issue but answered vaguely that I need to pay the 90AUSD.When I submitted my docs to AHPRA-Vic I have indicated in the last part of the AGOS40 form that the AU$540 fee will be paid through my credit card, however, when my statement of account from BDO came it was noted that only AU$450 was paid. AHPRA is now asking for my lacking AU$90 inorder for them to continue my assessment.Has anybody from this forum ever experienced like this? If so, what were the measures you took to correct it? Thank you so much!God bless us all...
I am also looking for people who are on the same boat with me. Presently, I have one friend Joy who haven't enrolled yet. We are looking for much affordable means so that we can be able to safely finance all the costs and processing. I just wish there are BP that are aren't very expensive.

Hello. In my case, I let my chief nurse and the medical director sign my CV, as well as myself.
