New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hey, how did you resolve this issue? Any news?Since I have to submit additional requirements, i just attatch the page with the credit card payment slip on my docs and wrote a letter regarding it. I suppose I'll just wait for their response on my email. I tried emailing APHRA on how to resolve the issue but answered vaguely that I need to pay the 90AUSD.

I haven't resolved this issue yet. I got their eMail last Friday.

This was their message:

"You are required to pay an application fee of AU$160.00, registration fee of AU$160.00 and an overseas assessment fee of AU$220.00. However please be advised we have not received full payment with your submitted application and as such require the additional amount of $90.00."

So you mean you resent the page 9 of AGOS40 form wherein you stated the outstanding amount to be paid (AU$90) together with your CC details?

When sending additional documents, to whom will you address it, to your case officer or just to AHPRA itself?

When did you send your docs Norificed?

Thanks for the help & good luck!

hi.IF I apply for a job and subsequently given a 457 visa, do I still need an OEC from POEA? I hope there are ways to bypass this process. I had a VERY TERRiBLE experience from them the last time I went abroad.
When you get your 457 visa you would most likely be in Australia. When you go home to the Phils for a holiday, you might need your OEC processed prior to returning to Australia. This can be done either at the airport or one of their POEA offices. The only 'issue' we had when we decided we can't be bothered with the OEC is we paid for the ?travel tax and/or terminal fee.

I am in the Philippines right now.

So you did not get an OEC? Were you questioned by the Philippine immigration?

and are Philippine passport holders eligible for label-free travel (457 visa)? that is, no visa stamped on the passport?

Sorry, I just realised that the rules might have changed. I'll get back to this question in mid July. I'll be in Manila then. Back in 2010 whilst on a 457 visa, we were only told to pay for travel tax and terminal fee. It wasn't our first time to leave the country though.

if I go to Australia for work, it will not be my first time to leave the country either. I work in the US and I'm on vacation right now. But since POEA rules somewhat differ from those going to USA and Australia, I don't know what the process is like. Also in Australia, obviously it's a different employer so different OEC/POEA application.

You don't need your passport labelled as per DIAC BUT that's Australian rules. Whether Philippine Immigration have the same access re immigration/visa status is a risk I am not happy to take. It's easy to have your passport labelled, just visit one of their offices in the state you are working in and bring the email that has your visa approval on it.

hello everyone!

for those IHNA peeps, are you required to provide a reference letter and if yes, how many? will one from a head nurse do? upon submission of your app, did IHNA get back to you right away and interviewed you guys? do they have an app fee?

and which one is better? ihna melbourne or perth? tia :)

Hello fellow nurses! Just a random question. Was there anyone here from the Philippines who was declined or let's say not approved for an LOE? Well considering that all schools in the Philippines have the same curriculum. The reason behind my question actually is because the outcome of my application will come out mid-May accdg to my case officer and if I'm not mistaken, tomorrow will be the start of "mid-May". I'm a bit worried about my application.

Another question: If the case officer has already submitted your application to the people who will decide for your application, does that mean that you have already submitted all the necessary papers in order for your application to push through?

Thanks in advance! :-)

By the way, I've been waiting for 10 months now. Seriously, this is not good but patience is a virtue. It really is.

Hello Alina,
