New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hi chillbrat, could you pm me how'd you went with applying for visa to NZ, i am planning to exit there, also the showmoney needed, thank you

It's easy to apply for NZ tourist visa if you are here in Australia. What I did is just to ask a letter from my bp provider stating that I still have the need to return to Australia. For tourist visa a show money of 1000aud would be enough and that it must be current at the time of application. They released my nz tourist visa after 5 working days. No visa fee required! :)

Got my loe. Details later. Cheers.

Congratulations!!!! Hope we get ours soon.

hi guys! for those of you who submitted a reference letter to AHPRA, is it necessary for the letter to have the official seal of the hospital? or the letterhead which has the name of the hospital enough?

thank you in advance!

Hi. What I submitted were photocopies of all my documents(except the ielts and prc Cert of Good standing) which were notarized. Im not sure if the seal would be visible in the xerox copy so I guess the letterhead would have been enough. Not sure though.

hi guys! i received an email from ahpra requiring me to send additional documents. parts of the email are the following statements:

a current nursing/midwifery professional reference from a senior nurse/midwife with a supervisory role in relation to your nursing/midwifery employment. the reference should be on official employer letterhead, dated and signed and contain the following information:

- dates of employment.

- attest to your safe and competent practice as a nurse/midwife

- state the level/grade of position.

- indicate whether your employment is/was full time or part time.

- state the duties and scope of the role.

- indicate the practice setting.

- state whether you work/ed in a supervised or unsupervised capacity.

- detail the experience gained in the role e.g clinical, education, research, management.

i would like to ask if some of you have an example of this reference letter please pm me because i really don't have any idea how to put all of those information in one letter! :(

hi aila, do send me your email. i have scanned my cert of employment which you may use as basis.

thanks chillbrat, but what if i can't get a letter from my school, because im done with my bp since december?, also would a personal appearance at the embassy be needed?

Before I paid my tuition fee, I put all my funds in the bank and asked for a bank statement after letting the money stay there for about a week. I presented that bank statement along with a letter of support from my cousin in Melbourne stating that he will financially support me throughout the course. I have also included his Australian passport together with my application. My bank statement at that time is at 803k. Hope this helps.. :)

Hi! I would like to ask you if this bank statement for your show money under your name or your cousin's? thanks.

congratulations!!

your loe will depend upon the state where you applied for registration and your case officer. but i think, yours will be faster since its victoria. others who submitted in wa are still waiting for their loes for 5 months ++++.

i dont think that you should apply for visa because you still don't know what school will take you in, and the type of visa depends on your school. i suggest completing your vaccines first.

Hey glidzdelight!

I read from your previous post that your visa got processed within 28 days, but given the fact that yours fell within the holy week. would you know if there's anyone who got his/her visa processed in 2 weeks or less? tia =)
