New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

thank you glitzdelight!

perhaps 3-6 months then.

what are the vaccines required? would it be better to go to tertiary hospitals or would you recommend private medical clinics? i believe i have to request a written proof of vaccination?

i have researched from international nurses working in melbourne that these are the vaccinations required ([color=#333333]hepatitis b, varicella (chicken pox), tetorifice, measles/ mumps/rubella, tuberculosis and annual flu vaccine. ) should i accomplish all of these ? i am on a very tight budget.

oh and will ahpra recommend a school for the bp or am i given the choice in choosing/enrolling in a school? i'm sorry i am not familiar with how it works...

Hi. Could you tell me how a letter containing application for a registration should be properly adressed?

That's the only thing I found on AHPRA website and I am not sure if I should write anything else. Should my TRF results be sent at the same adress?

Thanks.

Hey glidzdelight!

I read from your previous post that your visa got processed within 28 days, but given the fact that yours fell within the holy week. would you know if there's anyone who got his/her visa processed in 2 weeks or less? tia =)

I'm sorry cummulus. I don't know of anyone who got their visa within that time period.

However, when I inquired the embassy they told me that the minimum process time is 5 days. :)

i'm not sure which is better, but i had mine from my pedia. :)))

yes, you need to have a certification for the vaccines.

you need to have shots of the ff:

- hep b ( 3 shots)

- varicella ( 2 shots )

- mmr ( 2 shots )

- ppd/mantoux test (not more than 6 months before your class, i think)

- flu vaccine (i think this depends on the institution. i dont have this)

you can choose where to enroll for your bp :)

Any, what do you meant by electronically?

I got my go signal for medicals just 2 days after the embassy received my application.

i think some forumers here opted to have their visa processed online? is there really such a thing? i haven't checked the site for confirmation.

will the embassy email you your HAP ID? aside from the Hap id, what else do we need to bring to the medicals? and did you go to makati or the one in ermita? :)

LADYDEE-RN! your inbox is full cant send a pm :)

Hello glitzdelight!

How did you get the go signal for your medical exam? I'm really worried because I still haven't received a call for the medical exam of my visa application. I lodged mine last April 24 and 2 days later they acknowledged through text that they had received my documents. Did you call them or you waited for their call? Thank you. :(
