New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi! May I ask if the specific application form for LTU IRON is this one - Postgraduate (interactive application form - PDF 183KB) (application form - PDF 82KB) ? Also, what do we put in the agent details? Can this be a relative or friend from AUS who can do follow-ups on your application?

Meanwhile, I couldn't find the exact requirements for IRON. Do these include?

a. application form

b. IELTS

c. AHPRA approval letter

d. academic qualifications - what are these specifically? ie. TOR, Diploma? It's not clearly stated in the website

Does LTU require police checks ais well?

Also, what do they need in the immunisation shots? MMR, DPT, Hepa, Mantoux? I can't see any in their website =(

help! =( i'm sorry, i'm just a little confused.

For those who did LTU, how long did it take before they process your application?

thanks thaNKS so much =)

Hi Cummulus.

It's the form under the postgraduate, so yea.

Actually we are on the same boat. I really can't find the exact list of requirements from their site but I think the ones you listed are correct.

For police check I haven't seen it from their site but to be safe let us submit that too.

Hey Glidzdelight =)

Do you plan to scan the docs and just email them to LTU? Do we need to attach the app fee right away? I can't see their required immunisation either, so i'm just doing all i guess - MMR, Varicella, Hepa, DPT. How about you?

i think secondary studies is high school while post tertiary is college. correct me if im mistaken. speaking of which, how about for 2nd coursers? so, we need to indicate our 2 courses under the tertiary section and attach TOR and diploma (?!?) for both degrees?

Thank you. If post tertiary studies pertains to college I think that you should include both your courses and must attach supporting docunments for both. :)

hello makikay,congratulations!

i will also take my bridging program at ACFE on March. are you also on a 456 visa? if you are,can I ask you some questions? I am also on a 456 visa but I'm a bit confused. I am now going to book my flight for March and the agent ask if I have to get also a return ticket because of the type of visa I have. Do I really have to purchase roundtrip tickets? But I am planning to extend my visa because I think it will expire before the course ends. Can we do that?

Feel to share hehehe..:loveya:

Today, i feel so blessed!!;) Why? this is what happened: I had an interview by ACFE last week and on the same day, i read in their website that they will be going to send the offer letter for their successful applicants on Dec. 5. During that day, I wasn't expecting but i just can't stop myself from hoping to receive an offer letter. Unfortunately, i didn't! I was been a couch potato for the whole day till midnight just to wait for the offer but it never came :crying2:..On the following day, i decided to find other schools and placed more effort and time so i could find one. Yet, no one replied, oh my gosh!another hurdle to take?? :uhoh3: but i never stop praying! Upon waking up yesterday, something was pushing me to send an enquiry to ACFE regarding the result of my interview. I was never expecting this much, but i received an email from the school offering me the January intake instead of March. i was overwhelmed:eek: especially my hope was almost vanished thru a thin air.:p

By now, i am busy as bee preparing everything esp my visa application.Hoping i could finish everything weeks before my class commences..:D

For all forumers here who helped me from the start till now, thank you very much!

Hi again! Yes, I plan on doing that.

For the app fee, they are asking for the credit card details in the form, I think it's required.

MMR, Varicella, Hepa A, Hep B, DPT? Waa. Im also not sure but Im doing all to be safe.

hello everyone who's online. I really need your help. I'm on a 456 visa and about to book a flight for March. the agent asked me if I should get a return ticket because of the type of visa I have. I am confused about this. Do I have to get roundtrip tickets? But i am planning to extend because i think my visa expires before my course ends. i am granted a multiple entry visa with 3-months stay in every entry. Does anyone have the same situation like mine?

hi Makikay_rx

really? have you done follow-ups? call them and inquire. are they sending the AHPRA approval letter via snail mail? or can they just email this one?

yes, i did a follow up just last week. they said that my application is now pending approval from the Director of Registrations. So hopefully this month, or next month, i'll have their decision. they said they will send me an email.

hi everyone, I got a certification from our City Health with the vaccines i got when i was still a baby, like BCG, OPV1&2, DPT1,2&3 and measels vaccine. Is this document enough for the immunization requirement for any bridging school? I had my HEp B and TT 1,2 & 3 immunizations during college also.

please help.

Hey Leinad2427, yes PRC sends it directly to AHPRA, you just have to pay them the courier fee. Did you get your eligibility letter already? What school are you enrolling in for the bridging program?

You mean to say, you had serology test for the Varicella and Hepa B while had shots for the MMR? So, the serology is ok after all? How much does an MMR shot cost? How about DTap? can i have that in any pedia clinic? thanks thanks =)

I had Hepa B three doses and booster dose before but opted to also have the serology test for further documentation. As for Varicella, I had chickenpox but wasn't really diagnosed by my pediatrician. I chose to have the serology test then since I also didn't have any vaccination for that. As for MMR, you need two doses at least a month apart. I did inquire for its serology test but found it too costly. MMR vaccine cost about 1000php per shot. DTap, however, is around 1500php and that's just only one shot.
