Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

I am currently waiting for my next shot of MMR and I'm just wondering if how did you guys document your immunization records? I wanted to include the lot numbers and expiry dates however, my previous vaccines didn't have any. Is it alright to just have it signed by my doctor that I received such vaccines? Thanks in advance:)
My friend just sought a medical certificate from a doctor stating that she got this shot, etc. Can I just have a serology check for antibody instead given that I already had MMR in the past? Same with Hepa?
How about with DPT? Is this just a one shot? This is what I need and the Tetorifice, i guess.
Thanks thanks =)
Hi babsinc,LTU gave me the Letter of Offer yesterday and you're right, I just need to pay in order to accept the offer as soon as possible.
Are you for the May 2012 intake? If so, would you mind including me in your list of housemates/roommates?
Thanks,
Ster
PS. Pls PM me your cell number so i can communicate with you. Thanks in advance! :)
For those who chose LTU, did you apply directly ie thru email sending scanned documents? How long did it take for them to assess and confirm if you're accepted in their program? Will you apply for the Business Short Stay 456 visa? Tips pls =)

Thanks for the information. I might just do that as well. You can have a serology check but MMR is really costly. So I opted to have the shots instead. As for varicella though, the price is quite reasonable so I had it tested. You can also have Hep B serology titre. DTap as they call it only requires one shot.
Can we authorize a relative or friend from AUS and do updates in our application and communicate with AHPRA thru fone or does AHPRA just opt for email correspondence?what other further papers or documents do they still require if you submitted everything that needs to be sent in the first place?
Yes, you can do that. There's an option in the AHPRA app form where you can write down your agent/relative's information for communication.
From my own experience, they asked for my detailed course outline/description even though I already submitted mine with 9 pages to be exact. It included a brief description of each subject (major and minor) with the corresponding number of hours. I then requested from my school another course description and this time, my school sent an outline of our major nursing subjects only together with its content in bullets plus the total number of hours per subject. Overall, it had 32 pages. On the other hand, a friend of mine from the same university also submitted her application on the same time as mine. We even compared our papers page by page before mailing them. Lucky for her, she wasn't asked for any additional requirements and received her eligibility letter after 3 months. We had different case officers by the way.
Moreover, since my Certificate of Employment didn't specify whether I was full time/part time, they also asked for another one. What I did was requested from my hospital to write down that I work eight hours per day, 5 days a week. I got my eligibility letter a month after my friend got hers - 4 months in total upon receipt of my application.
So basically, your letter totally depends on your case officer. Just pray for the best results and yes, follow what AHPRA requires may it be full time/part time, etc. Consider even the most minute detail to avoid delays. Good luck on your application!:)
Hi!
I am planning to submit my application to LTU later for the May intake (Im not even sure if they are accepting applications). It seems that they don't require a list of vaccination for assessment (since Im trying to complete mine).
Am I correct or did I overlooked the requirements? help.

hi there! im for ltu's may intake. you just have to submit scanned copies of your documents. in my case, it took a week before i received my letter offer. if you're planning to enroll in ltu, do it now coz slots fill up really fast. as for the vaccination record, they actually require one. just look it up in their site.:)
