New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi independent_chiq

I would like to ask where did u see the requirements for eligibility from AHPRA?

Im just a newly registered nurse here in the Phil with no hospital experience yet. I would like to undergo the bridging program too. I just enrolled at IELTS and will probably take this January 2012. Can you help me with the step by step process? especially with Step 1. Im still starting from scratch. especially on how to get the eligibility letter. Thank you and hoping for your respond

Hello! Try to backread from pages 1-5 :D

I am on a tight budget and I'm trying to choose a BP provider that would cost me the least. And one of my concerns is the venue of clinical placements because I dont want to be burdened with the cost of plane fares if ever my chosen BP provider would have me do my clinicals on another state. For instance, joimike here had his BP at ETEA in melbourne but he had his clinicals in SYdney so he had to go back and forth. If this will be the case for me, I think my tight budget could not compensate for added cost of plane fares.

SO to all those who had already finished their BP at either CON, AAON and La Trobe:

Where do they place their BP students for the clinical placements? What state or how far from the school?

If you are on a tight budget then might as well enroll in a CRICOS registered university like LTU or AAON so that you can apply for a student visa which allows you to work for 20 hours/week. :D

hello aila! cant send pm yet but i emailed you the name of my consultancy.;)

hi, the reason i ask if there's anybody here from the said school becoz they have no idea what's transcript of training eventhough i've attached the email from ahpra. My only hope is to refer my request to the dean of nursing. i've already provided to ahpra my TOR, RLE & COURSE OUTLINE but it seems it's not enough. Does anyone of you guys have any idea what transcript of training? if possible give me some example for me to have an idea.

any help will greatly be appreciated.

Thank you & God bless!

Does your TOR/RLE include the list of hospitals and training centers where you had your clinical placements? It should also contain the number of hours spent on duty with each specific institution. Hope that helps.:)

Hi guys can anybody help me? I am planning to register in aprah..can anyone help me with my resume..I need a sample cv please...is it true that the processing will take about 6 months or more?help pls thanks

Is there a dress code/uniform for clinical placements for La Trobe students?

They are requiring navy trousers and black/navy shoes. While the shirt will be purchase in the school.

Hi,

Has anyone tried to apply for registration while out of their home county? A friend wanted to apply for registration but is currently working in the UAE. She has every required documents certified over a year ago. Will AHPRA accept those or does she have to have her docs certified again? Except for the GOOD STANDING of course which we are willing to request in her behalf.

Hope to hear from anyone who have any idea :D

hi Stellawinx, thnx for the reply. i don't think they are requesting about any hospital where i had my clinical placement. for you to have an idea of what they are asking actually i've already posted this question earlier.

Transcripts of trainingWe needbreakdown of subjects for theory as well as clinical in clock hours. Also be advised that core subjects should be covered in transcripts examples Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, microbiology, Paediatrics and aged care etc. In this regard make arrangements with school of nursing to send that information directly to us or you can submit us certified copies of them. (Even though we have received course outline however we still need this transcript of training – displaying breakdown of subjects in theory and clinical in clock hours)

I hope there's somebody here who encountered the same requirements from ahpra & can enlighten me regarding this matter. i've shown this to the registrar but she seems have no idea at all. my only hope is the dean. at the moment I cannot do anything coz the school is going to have their christmas break & going to resume on the 3rd of Jan.

Thanks & God bless!

You should request for a syllabus per nursing subject. Course syllabus is more detailed than course description, it provides the theory/clinicals hours. I encountered the same problem-- I've submitted the TOR, RLE, course description and theory hours but they were still requesting for further documents, so what I did is to request for the syllabus. It is quite costly though-- I spent almost 5K; I received my eligibility two weeks after I have submitted the syllabus. :D

Got my letter today! Yessss!!

Timeline:

Submitted to APHRA: Sept 2011

Submitted further requirements: Nov 2011

Received my letter: Dec 30, 2011

:)

Now Im scouting for a school. Any suggestions?
