Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Congrats makikay and thank you for all the help you gave me before when I was preparing my application. By the way, how long did you wait from APHRA WA before they contacted you that they have received your application??? It has been a month now since I passed my documents and still I haven't heard any word from them. I'm just getting worried that it would be too late for me to find a school to enroll for early next year. Thanks in advance :)

Well, they notified me that they received my application after 6 days from mailing it to their office.

Did you send it thru courier or a regular mail? if thru courier, kindly check if someone in the office received it and if yes you can call them and ask regarding your application. Better call them so you can directly ask your queries. :)

and please check your spam since i heard some of the forumers here their important email went there, bang!:uhoh3:

i did not ring them but i contacted them thru email during those times, yet i checked their website this is what i got hope it will help..

How do I pay via bank draft? I have read that local banks such as BDO don't issue bank drafts in AUD. But that post was way back 2009.

I know about ANZ Philippines, but I have to fly to Makati to do that. I can't bring a big amount of cash with me on the plane. :confused:

Thanks for the help Makikay. Just got a text from my friend who owned the credit card I used in paying AHPRA. She told me that an amount of 335 AUD has been deducted from her by AHPRA MELBOURNE AUS. I'm confused because I sent my application to AHPRA WA and not in Melbourne, why is this so? Why is the amount only 335 instead of 450? Can Anybody here shed me some light regarding this? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone :)

All nursing registrations are renewed in May if that has anything to do with it. It is the half way mark....

Went to a local bank, they said that they issue a bank draft in AUD if I have a dollar account. A dollar account can be activated after 6 months. Nooo...

Hi there ishtin the same payment process happened to me and I applied in WA too :) I think all payment transaction of AHPRA is centralized and Melbourne might be their main office for that. The 335 AUD are just the fees for application -115AUD and assessment -220AUD. I think they won't deduct a registration fee since we still need to comply with the bridging course. We will only pay the reg fee once we finish the BP and transact with AHPRA again for the license. I hope this helps :D God bless on our application

Did it take them that long also to notify you? I passed my papers last October 7 and no email was yet sent to me. huhuhu. I think WA has many applicants already because the applications that they are processing now are those dated august 2011. I passed my application August 18 and they replied august 23 then I received a receipt of application august 29 from there I have not received a notification yet. But my friends who applied on the same month were already notified that their papers were assessed and for final assessment of the board. I am hoping to receive the same email next week. You can send an email enquiry to AHPRA and ask them for updates. Patience... Patience ... :D we really need a lot of this

Ishtin, since the credit card you used was been deducted so it is the best time for you to ring them for you to verify if they receive it and why have you not been notified thru email.. Most of the applicants, if not all, has been notified every time they are being assessed already. You can ask them politely and they will help you about your queries. :)

after more than 3 months of waiting, AHPRA ACT sent me an e-mail requesting for more documents.

one of the documents they wanted me to submit is a Professional Reference from my current nursing supervisor. This is not hard to do. I just don't know if others were required to submit this document, too.

The other documents they are asking are kind of confusing. They asked me to submit a:

-correctly stated Statement of Service. I know I submitted this one and I checked it before submitting just to make sure it's in agreement on what the board is requiring.

- certificate of registration status from all the boards I have previously held registration. I don't know if they are missing my documents or overlooking it, coz I even clarified it twice (thru e-mail and phone) if they received my registration certificates and they said yes.

Anyway, I emailed my case officer to clarify these things. Hopefully I'll get a positive feedback.
