New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

so disappointed with IDP here in Cebu. I requested and paid them to have my IELTS result sent tuesday last week, wasn't given an OR and tracking no. for the 1500 i paid, and when i called today to ask for my tracking no., they still couldn't give me any coz she said it will only be sent today. hmmm.... then if that's the case, it ain't supposed to be what they call "Express mail". imagine taking a week before they can send it out. truly disappointing and frustrating

lesson learned: for those in Cebu, better request for your IELTS result from IDP a week ahead before you send out your docs from PRC and your AGOS form. that way, they'll all arrive in AHPRA almost at the same time.

any reason they gave or did they give clear commitment to supposedly send it last week?...... thatz worth complaining.... nways, i dont deal with IDP office even here in Davao, i just go back to my previous review center to take care of that transaction, the review center just took care of it...

nways that wud serve a warning to cebuanos/residents dealing with IDP cebu... i miss cebu...haaaaay...

IM BACK Again in this thread... can anyone send me some tips and notes or links in regards to ielts.. its my 2nd take for my ielts. I failed the 1st one specifically the writing part... unadunad sent me some previously. anyways any news from unadunad. haven't heard of him for too long...

cheers guys and gals!

goodluck to all your application hope i can send mine as well soonn....

Can anybody confirm this? I will take my IELTS january pa, so maybe in the mean time I can already process my papers for assessment for eligibility to take a bridging course?

Thanks!

This was before July 1,2010. UNISA was given an independent rights to assess application by the Nurses Board of south Australia. I also help assist an applicant to enroll at UNISA Oct. 2010 entry and it took him only 2 weeks from June 14, to June 28 to have the unconditional letter of offer and the visa 4 weeks to be finalized.Again this was before July 1, 2010.He will be joining the orientation this week.

Hi guys! I'm so confused right now. I am done with the initial registration and already received my letter of eligibility. I am also enrolled in VHCN for the January Intake. My IELTS would be expiring next week and I asked the NMBWA months agothey told me that I can still register because I submitted my IELTS before it expired. But just today, the school emailed me regarding my confirmation letter and a message that I need to resit the IELTS before I register after I finish the BP. I called NMBWA today and they told me again that it is not needed. I called the school registrar and he said he will clarify it with the Board. The school registrar and I exchanged a lot of emails today regarding my other queries but seem to ignore my IELTS query. What to do?!!?

lets simplify your situation:

1) NMBWA is correct when they say that it is not needed.. i believe in that answer, and that is supposed to be the answer i will expect.. nothing abnormal or inconsistent about NMBWA answer..

2) Based on the info you've written, the school warned you that you need to resit IELTS in order to be registered after BP.. you never wrote that you are barred by the school to attend the January intake? or are you barred? if they don't bar you, then just finish the BP and forget about their opinion becoz they are not the registration agency, their responsibility is only on BP.. in other words, as long as you finiz your bp, then tell them to submit their BP report to NMBWA and tell them that the matter of ielts is your own business with NMBWA (it is not their business to advise or remind you what to submit to NMBWA, their business is only on BP)..

3) he ignore your query on ielts? of course, because the registrar realized that he was wrong.. in the first place, he is not an officer of NMBWA, so he should not be involved with certain NMBWA registration issues like IELTS esp. that NMBWA has already answered your query (by email? or verbal?)...

4) it would be a different story if the BP school demands from you to resit ielts becoz assuming that is their BP school policy, then you have to follow.. this would be a different case..

5) WARNING... by january 2011, NMBWA will presumably be merged with AHPRA (actually, supposedly it should be merged this November).. henceforth, i cannot answer any further speculative questions you may have, by then you will be under AHPRA rules, not NMBWA rules.. my above answer is applicable while you are under NMBWA... i hope you see the difference..

6) i assume you are not a PR in australia? i assume that after BP, you will have to apply for 457 work visa? if so, then my opinion is that DIAC will ask for your unexpired/alive IELTS as part of the requirements of 457 visa.. if my opinion is right, then, just the same you would need to resit IELTS for visa requirement purposes..

good luck...
