Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

i do not remember her anymore.. but you can search by going back to Part 1, early pages of that thread, if you like to.. however, even if you found her, i reckon you cannot contact her because "normally" after getting Aus. RN license, pipol disappear from the thread which i know you will also after you will get yours.. moreover, that happened before AHPRA, and at that time, they need RNs badly..
hello everyone,
Is it possible to be able to undergo the bridging program without being assessed by APHRA? could this be possible if the australian government are the ones sponsoring the nurses to be eligible to work in australia? is the clinical experience really needed in order to qualify for the bridging course? Thanks
ishtin:may i know if the agency's name start with "Philippine.." then something? my workmate told me about something like that but she said this one is in manila. she said its not free. its some kind of a loan program but you will pay them back when you are in australia..in peso the amount is about a 1 million or more.. just be careful choosing an agency and signing their contracts.

hello guys.... I just would like to know if there are bridging programs that i can just take in the Philippines. A friend of mine have told me that she studied through modular form of BP. she took modules 1-3 in the Phinlippines and had her module 4 which is the clinical placement in australia for a month... Now she's an RN in australia... I tried to ask her where she took the module in our counrty but i guess she was busy... so im asking you guys if you know anything about this?
Hello, that was the previous registration process in Queensland but now that all nursing boards are consolidated into one, which is AHPRA that program was abolished.

Hi ishtin,
I don't think it's possible to undergo the BP without being assessed by ahpra. Ahpra is like our PRC here in the Phils. Clinical experience, whether paid or on a volunteer basis, is acceptable by ahpra for as long as you reach the minimum of 3 months full time.

1) the information in page 01 of this thread are still valid, except that you now need at least 3 months experience in order to apply at AHPRA.. but the rest of the information in page 01 are still good..
2) australian government will/may/could "sponsor" you, that is possible, no problem.. but, watch out the keyword "sponsor", it does not mean "nursing registration".. in terms of spelling and meaning, those two terms are really different.. you need "nursing registration" to work as RN here..
3) As per website (i cannot validate yet), ARNTP in Adelaide states that you can go through such program (meaning, the school may accept you even if you do not have the AHPRA eligibility letter).. after finishing, you are eligible for registration in AHPRA, meaning, you will apply at AHPRA for nursing registration using the ARNTP as the basis to tell the AHPRA to grant you nursing registration.. This path had been existing and validated prior AHPRA because i know there are those who took this program (prior AHPRA).. I do not know anyone yet, now with AHPRA..

I guess you're right.... thanks anyway!

i wrote to BP schools before to ask how enrollment procedures go b't..they told me we have to present eligibility letter from ahpra before we enroll.
I'm not sure about this but my aunt told me that nurses who don't have experience
can register with AHPRA. There are some who recently went to Oz for the bridging program
without experience. I think they went there last March.
That's what she told me but I don't know if there are recent changes. :):):)
it's more of a question of "risk" and an issue of "advice"... i will "advice" anyone who ask me for him/her to have at least 3 mos. experience to avoid the "risk" of being disapproved.. if AHPRA does not need 3 mos. experience, that's great, but i would not bet my application on that, too risky..
