New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

it's more of a question of "risk" and an issue of "advice"... i will "advice" anyone who ask me for him/her to have at least 3 mos. experience to avoid the "risk" of being disapproved.. if AHPRA does not need 3 mos. experience, that's great, but i would not bet my application on that, too risky..

Hi Cioman, I have some questions.

If the application is disapproved, will they charge me the $450 fee?

And can I apply again if ever I get disapproved?

Thanks! :):):)

may i know the name of the agency that your friend was referring? thanks

Ok, I called my friend, she said its Philman and they just held a seminar recently in Iloilo City according to her. I don't know if its credible, you are at your own risk if you want to contact them.

Hello! What were the documents you submitted for the proofs of identity? I was asked to submit any supporting document for Category D. Would it be OK if I send a Voter's Affidavit since I don't have a COMELEC ID?

guys, do i have to send the original TOR directly from the school to the AHPRA? or just a certified true copy???

Hi Mhai,

It's on AGOS form that they just need "certified tru copies of all your relevant academic qualifications and transcripts"..

1) Philman, just share to us what they say so we can give you feedback or comments.. some RNs when they came here in this thread, after they participated in an agency's seminar, would realize the difference..

2) The last time i know, TOR should be send by the school directly to AHPRA..

3) what are the other choices in Category D? do you have other choice besides our antiquated voter's affidavit? anyways if the voter's affidavit has a picture of you, that might be good.. however, i do not the list of IDs in Category D..

4) it depends on the disapproval.. if it is just lack of documents then just comply them, if lack of experience then comply it.. if you lack "nursing units/subjects", whew!? go back to school earn it.. there are instances that your application is downgraded to EEN.. if they say you must graduate from a UNI then, mate, will you enrol to a nursing school in a Uni?! ..they will just charge you with that overseas processing fee, they will not collect (or will reimburse you) with that registration fee...

a friend (still there in Phils.) of my co-RN here, have started processing her application using an agency.. P100,000 downpayment was made for the P350,000 processing fees & other expenses, except for the $10,000 tuition fee for BP, and excluding yet of the living expenses during BP.. geez! here, it is free advice for processing, in fact the one advising you here is paying internet time connection for advising you.. me and my co-RN were just scratching our head.. it does not matter whether you file as an individual or via agency, all of you will fall in line and wait, agency cannot do much to accelerate the application time, this is not Phils. were agencies can do that..

here's the thing though, if any agency will offer "loan" for your BP tuition, then i will definitely consider that agency and grab the opportunity.. but if agency will just offer you services, nah, no incentive to get their services..

hello! we were on the same boat, bbniss. I reapplied and sent my application with the additional requirements to Ahpra victoria 2nd week of august. I received a letter from my registration officer on the 3rd week of november informing me to send my IELTS result.. which I did send to NBV before. I tried to call her through the number given in the letter to tell her that I already sent it to NBV, but I had problems getting through. I had been through hell that time, I was desperately calling the number everyday but it didnt work. Fortunately, 2 weeks after, I received an email from her asking me if I received the letter. We communicated thru email. She told me that they found my IELTS and she apologized. I was advised to just wait for the result of my application in writing. I got the eligibilty / pre-registration letter 2 weeks after her last email.

The last time I checked (during the holidays), liaa is still waiting for hers as well. I hope you receive yours soon! happy new year! :)

just got a letter from ahpra yesterday. why are they asking for a current australian visa before i get my eligibility?

"An initial assessment of your application has been undertaken and the following outstanding requirements have been identified:

-Certified proof of identity documentation from Category A-Current Australian Visa, C and D-Evidence of residential address as listed in the Proof of Identity Requirements form which can be found on our website http://www.ahpra.gov.au. For example, you have provided an overseas passport, however you have not included a certified copy of a Current Australian Visa. Without a current Australian visa, your passport is not considered a Category A document"

hi! i would like to share what i knew bout philman...i went there for an orientation. since i already have my ahpra approval i asked them what can they do for my case. it is a processing company who's tied w/ a finance agency which will loan you all of the money needed for the iron program, housing, visa, plane ticket & show money accounting to almost 2 million pesos thus no cash out on your part when you sign up w/ them but when you already have work in au then that's the time that you will pay them. what i did not liked bout it is that they does'nt tell you during the orientation on how much is the interest rate and how long are you gonna pay for the loaned money.

wat is the contact number for philman? email: [email protected] your reply will be highly appreciated, thanks.

Hey zdane... i just wanted to ask what did you submit for category A?? was it a copy of your passport? it says in the criteria that your passport must contain a current Australian visa.. Do you have this when you submitted for category A??
