Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

a friend of a colleague of mine did sign up w/ philman, she's now in au and studying for the iron prog. my colleague told me that her friend will earn 20-30k pesos/month for 2 years bcoz most of her salary will be paid for the money that she loaned from that company. when i asked her how come it's only 30k she can't tell me why bcoz accdng. to her, her friend cannot divulge how much is the interest rate...

im not questioning or pointing fingers here, just wanna set the figures right, okey mate..
1) P20-30K pesos/MONTH is basically around $700 a month..
2) House/room rent is $100 - $200 a WEEK, depending where you live (city? rural?)..
3) Monthly insurance bill @ $80
4) Food, other expenses....
many things should therefore be clarified before entering into such contract esp. you net take-home pay, otherwise you will end up starving or in a miserable living condition.. those people in the agency usually really do not know how much is needed to spend when you are living here because most of them did not have a chance to work/live here..
For the veterans of this thread, I want to ask you which area in australia (Queensland, melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Victoria) will give you the highest probability of getting a job in a hospital or aged care centre.
queensland, victoria, nsw.............. i assume you know the capital cities of said states/territories..
p.s. i am not a veteran yet, still not receiving pensions.. cheers!

Just a word of warning....this amount leaves 600.00 Australian dollars to live for a month not possible unless acommodation and food is free, do they offer that as well as your soul...what a miserable life that will be for 2 years....or even more...
This is scab labour and totally against the law.
They (health agency and this overseas agency) will be found out through immigration or trades and labour council or tax department, if this is the truth, what is happening and the nurse cannot claim ignorance on this matter.
I used my passport for category B. I just added a letter of explanation telling them that I have not attached anything for Category A. Read the guidelines for the Proof of Identity. It's written there that if cant meet the requirements for such category, simply make a letter of explanation to AHPRA.
ishtin:i wrote to BP schools before to ask how enrollment procedures go b't..they told me we have to present eligibility letter from ahpra before we enroll.
The ARNTP of the Univeristy of South Australia is the right fit for you, it will take about 18 weeks on a student visa...meaning u can work part time while studying, however the show money is way higher than a short stay visa.
Its my last day in my province, flying to Manila tomorrow then to Australia for my Bridging Program in NSW :) Excited to see my classmates! Scared too but positive!
Goodluck to all those here still starting out and to those waiting for their eligibilities. Pray hard, it really helps :)
Bye for now!

What's the name of your university/school where you'll take your bp in NSW?

thanks for sharing the information..
1) you are correct on the concerns you raised.. the question of interest is important, it may be 3% per MONTH, or
24% per YEAR.. it should be known..
2) things to ponder by interested applicants:
a) if you have the lowest salary as RN here, you will be able to pay P2.0M in about 2 years time.. no way you will
be able to pay it in 1 year, unless you wanna starve yourself or wear nothing but undies..
b) let's assume that you will be able to pay it off in 2-3 years.. afterwhich, for the rest of your life you are here
in Oz living in a free democratic country..
c) do you wanna go to Saudi and work for 2-3 years with a small salary, in a strict society, in the desert, hot
climate, then after 3 years, go back to Phils., with what?? small savings, and sunburn?.. if you are willing to
sacrifice to work Saudi, i reckon better work sacrifice that Philman set-up and end up better in Aussie..
3) Category A - Passport... i do not memorized the list of IDs in Category A, be easier if you post it here so i can take a look.. if you can supply other IDs in that list besides the Passport, then good so as to meet the requirements.. otherwise, send email reply to AHPRA about that thing, that how the h*** can you produce a passport with visa if you cannot enrol yet in a BP school.. chicken and egg syndrome... just remember that there are adjustments and transitions in AHPRA such that sometimes weird issues are raised to you as applicants.. example that eligibility letter which should be applicable in all states/territory but which CON NSW only knew just early this year (weird, we knew it first before them)..
good luck, again, count the time in one day you spent praying, i bet it is less than an hour.. pray more, it helps..
cheers!
