New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hello Everyone!

I'm new here and I hope you could help me on how to apply as a nurse in Australia. Is there a new pathway that i could take that is cheaper and faster? i heard there was an agency that came here in Cagayan de Oro that invited nurses to become eligible in Australia by taking a 3 weeks course here in the Phil. and 3 weeks in Australia. They offer a very enticing opportunity since it does not require the applicants to have an experience, board and lodging in Australia is free and that the Australian government is also assisting in their application. I don't know if this is reliable since it's too good to be true...hehehe...I just found out about it thru a friend...i hope you guyz can shed some light about this...thanks

may i know if the agency's name start with "Philippine.." then something? my workmate told me about something like that but she said this one is in manila. she said its not free. its some kind of a loan program but you will pay them back when you are in australia..in peso the amount is about a 1 million or more.. just be careful choosing an agency and signing their contracts.

cioman:

ok.

Where is it best to send my application? I am planning to send it to the New South Wales office. Where did you guys send your documents?

just asking- can anyone tell me how i can delete a previous post (that i did). i want to remove an earlier post thats all.

@ ilove83080: yes sir i think that't the program they are offering. yes they are based in manila but they came here in Cagayan de Oro to conduct an orientation but i wasn't able to attend the said seminar. The name of the agency that my friend told me was ABM. That's all i know for now...hehehe...

May i know what are the required documents i need to pass to APHRA? would it be faster if i ask the help of an agency or an immigration lawyer? thanks in advance

ishtin:

sir?

just abm? its like an acronym for something.. if its abm its not same.. cos my friend said the agency they are talking about is "philman". seriously, its a bit too good to be true if everything is free and they don't require work experience.

about the reqs:

hey im not 100% sure this is all but i got this from previous forums. i think by glioblastoma and others. please read back, everything especially the first few pages are very informative:

1.certified true copy of my passport

2.ctc of diploma

3.ctc of the certificate of registration from prc

4.ctc of tor + rle

5.ctc of licence card , passport

6.ielts (don't send it. idp must send this instead)

7.nbi (certified)- cioman indentify his purpose like this for australian nursing registration and glioblastoma send 2 kinds local and abroad

8. statement of service (original)

9.cv check (original)- check ahpra website for the format

10.certificate of good standing (original)(don't send it. prc must send this instead)

maybe the it depends on how and compliant and resourceful you are and if you don't read the older posts..(!!!) immigration lawyer maybe helpful when you are applying for visas, migration and immigration but heller?? if you are not compliant also with the lawyer what do you think? goodluck (na lang) amigo.

It should be sent to AHPRA. xxx

this is a bit weird or an exception.. it is hard to analyze.. im at a lost too... i can only ask clarifactory queries..

- did you send all the required documents?? as in all of them?

- what do they refer as "accredited program of study"?? can anyone here answer this question, does it refers to BP??

I believe that the accredited program of study that the letter is referring to is the bridging program. Because right after the paragraph that I quoted, they wrote on the letter a link to ahpra's website about accreditation where the schools which offer bridging programs are listed. It's very confusing because it seems to me that ahpra's process of registering overseas nurses is not standard for all territories. I'll be calling them up first thing tomorrow morning to clarify what the letter means.

Hi cioman, yes I did send all of the documents they require. As in all of it.

if that is the case, there is still hope because they refer you to a BP, meaning you are still considered for BP, it is just that there some things to be clarified and complied with for you to be able to get ahpra's letter of eligibility for BP.. clarify with AHPRA.. i doubt that applying to another ahpra office will do you good.. better clarify.. you need a lot of prayers for this one, pray they will give clear answer..

1) generally pls be careful in dealing with agencies.. if there are car and bicycle available, agencies will sell to you

the car, and will not tell you the option of bicycle (unless you ask for it).. you end up spending more..

2) as far as i know all BP are in Australia.. unless there is BP school that offers online education on certain subjects of its BP course..

3) so that we will be at equal footing so to speak, kindly read page 01 of this thread..

4) even if your immigration lawyer or agent is Sen. President Enrile or Chief Justice Corona, it will not accelerate the processing of your AHPRA nursing registration.. you will fall in line just like the rest of us... And frankly speaking, as in frankly speaking, there are more well-informed knowledgable members here in this thread regarding AHPRA registration than those agency or immi lawyers there in the Phils... and it's free..

5) cheaper and faster? sorry, not existing.. it is expensive and slower now as compared prior AHPRA..

you have a point about why we shouldn't consider Philippines as a 3rd world country and the concentration of power in the Philippines among the few. ppl here eat squares meals, many are literate and many can do what they want to do in and out of the country.

but economics is not run by the people but the people in power, notable example of Marxism Ideologies. through history this pattern never change, no wonder some of us come to this thread to go to Australia (etc) to make a future. it is just good that ppl here are very resourceful and adapt very quickly to the situation, and many (but not all) can reach a solution.

isingrn:

tnx

thanks i'll send my message to your email add. :)
