New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

just consider yourselves lucky guys...

God knows how much I would love to work and eventually reside in AU.

I heard about the saying 'if there is a will, there is a way' but I dont know where to get the necessary amount of money to go on and at least start the processing of papers for aphra, how much more the ginormous amount for the bridging program.

im about to take my ielts next week, for my visa screen, but im not confident enough to get the much coveted score of 7 for writing. im really having a hard time on this part.

so, instead of enjoying the beautiful scenery in AU, i might be leaving the country this month, or the next, for mid east. i have to live life like a nun for three years, because of their culture and restrictions. even my dad does not want me to work there, but reality bites...we cannot afford it.

i really envy all of you guys. but im happy for all of you as well. im glad that there is a silver lining amidst all of the negativity of not finding a job. that there are still job offers to grab and interviews to go to.

good luck to all of you guys. i hope you dont mind if i still lurk around the forum, or say my two cents if i feel like it :)

just do not forget to look at the bright side.... there a lot of RNs who are willing to work in mid-east but yet failed to do so (like my sister)... and you are still young, there is still time.. me, i got into this career in my late 30s (though i do not look like one, Char!!)... i never felt it was too late for me, in fact the more i appreciate the blessing that i have now here.. imagine, ive been working in the corporate world, banging my head as a intellectual but at the end of the day, when compared to my work here, even by just using 10% of my brain cells, yet i am paid more more more than i was paid for my so-called intellectual job...

there are reasons for everything, on why such happens (esp. if you pray).. in the same way, there is a reason why i work in rural town in aged care, while mooh mooh was lucky enough to work in sydney! hehehehe.. mooh mooh was again dragged in the conversation.. mooh mooh, hope you received my message and will reply..

cheers!

July next year maybe you have to at least be able to enrolled in BP before julr next yr.

Maybe send orig of Emp. Cert. oh what did you do during the gap sis? did you enroll in something or review? you can get a cert or letter i guess, my question on how to prve this was not answered yet but if its not answered il just request for a certification.

My Q 17: is Yes. Heard from someone getting this insured is like a responsibility and the Australian Government would appreciate it if we make these steps for safety reasons.

TOR must be send to AHPRA also according to some older forums.

you have a point about why we shouldn't consider Philippines as a 3rd world country and the concentration of power in the Philippines among the few. ppl here eat squares meals, many are literate and many can do what they want to do in and out of the country.

but economics is not run by the people but the people in power, notable example of Marxism Ideologies. through history this pattern never change, no wonder some of us come to this thread to go to Australia (etc) to make a future. it is just good that ppl here are very resourceful and adapt very quickly to the situation, and many (but not all) can reach a solution.

tnx

Hi I am in a dilemma because I'm not sure what to do next. I already received a letter from ahpra but it says that I am ineligible for registration unless I finished an approved bridging course. My documents were returned to me and it was unprocessed , as the letter says. I was not even charged of any fees. Is this the letter that I need to submit to the school where I'm interested in enrolling. Please help me out. I've been hearing from all of you that you've been charged with the assessment fees etc but it did not happen to me.

Should I submit my application to a different ahpra office?

Help would be very much appreciated.

Q13.. try to have it signed.. but i would not be surprised if some applicants could not be able to have it signed.. there have been different answers to this question.. good luck..

It´s a very complicated situation u see....How can we ask our employers to sign the CV without telling themthe real purpose of it?

In my case, I could never ever ask my chief nurse to do it because she strong believes that I´m really interested in building a long career in the hospital where I work. She would be really disapointed toknow that she´sbeen investing so much in me and I´m gonna leave the job real soon. And besides, what if something goes wrong along the way? we have to guarantee our jobs in our homeland...

I believe it´d be wonderful to have it signed but it´s very embarassing....

Hi,

Can you post the ahpra letter verbatim so that others who have been assessed can have a better idea of what the letter says?

@ilove83080: thanks for the reply..i already passed ielts but it will expire on july next year.i'm still completing the requirements.good luck n god bless.. :)

@cindy_b: do u already have statement of service and cv?

guys, i don't know what to do regarding cv(gaps in your practice.what will i write if i didn't practice nursing for 1 year?)

dear, what have u done during this 1 year without working?

i´ll give you my example:

i was 6 months unemployedand i explained to them that after i finished college i started applying for jobs and menawhile i studied for the ielts for almost 5 months, took it twice;took some nursing courses, too, until i finally found a job.

question #17: do you commit to only practice the profession if you have appropriate professional indemnity insurance arrangements in place? yes or no/na

is it ok to submit the photocopy of certified copy of documents? if ur docs are not english, certified copies r required together with a tarnslation by a notary public

ielts result and certificate of good standing are the only documents to be passed directly to ahpra by the testing center and prc, right? yes

hope i have helped...

It says " you are ineligible for registration and as such your application is being returned unprocessed. Under the national law you will be required to complete a board accredited program of study as an overseas trained nurse before you can apply for registration. Once you have completed one of the listed accredited courses you may then apply to the board for general registration."

I am concerned why they returned my documents and they did not charge me of anything. For those who received their letters, did ahpra returned your papers as well? I'm very worried as to what will I do. I am actually contemplating now to submit my application to a different ahpra office.

Did you use the AGOS -04 Form for overseas nurses?
