New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Please Help!!

I have been following this thread since 2008 but I was able to lodge my application last January 2011, IELTS issues! :lol2:

I just received a letter from AHPRA telling me that some of my documents were not properly signed by an approved signatory. I had all my documents certified by a notary public. What should I do?

hello! have they not informed you what documents in particular? if they were referring to your photocopies, it could possibly mean that they were not probably certified properly. go to http://www.ahpra.gov.au/Registration/Registration-Process/Certifying-Documents.aspx and check if you did what ahpra requires. :)

Would it be ok if I post some parts of AHPRA's email?

yeah, I dont think it would hurt. just quote it anyway.

Here they are..

Too bad i can paste them. But here they are,

* Certified Proof of Identity from Categories A, B, C,

* Certified evidence of Bachelor degree

* Certified academic transcript including a breakdown of the hours of theoretical instruction and clinical practice

All of them have this note: Please note, the document you provided was not correctly certified by an approved signatory and therefore cannot be accepted.

I guess my other documents were OK since they did not mention them. The things is, all my documents were certified the same way. So why did they asked only for the three?

hmmn weird. Is there a certain person from AHPRA who emailed you? you definitely have to ask them why. But check first their website for the correct way of certification just so you have a clue if ever you fell short and I suggest it would be better if the notary public placed his/her contact details too for verification.

They probably asked for only the three because these were the documents that were assessed first. There is a proper way of wording the certifications as instructed in the website. You can call ahpra asap and tell them that you sill send another set of documents that will now be certified properly. That way, your application will not be shelved, much less, denied for the simple mistake.

Please follow the instructions on how to certify the documents this time so as not to delay the processing of your application further.

I guess it was not certified each page, usually here in the Philippines they certify the first and last page of the document even if that document is 10 pages (e.g course description) but APHRA requires each page to be certified , so you need to re send the documents stated with each page certified.

or

You did not follow their format. ;)

@joiemike

Wow... I know of someone who got her eligibility email(?) from ahpra 3months since she sent her applic. I guess the processing time would really vary from person to person. I bet mine would take about a year :( Anyway, what credit card did you use? I mean, from which bank? An uncle of mine in QLD would be paying for my registration fee but I have this friend from Cebu who's got no clue as to how he'd pay for his application.

By the way, are you in the Philippines right now?
