New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

hi ...the agency I applied with wouldn't accept the hospital issued work experience certificates as it doesn't follow the AHPRA standard. Is there such a thing?

where do I find the WORK EXPERIENCE certificate format? thanks

It's specifically given in the application form about how to make the correct work experience format. Please check. The heading is statement of service.

hello guys.... I just would like to know if there are bridging programs that i can just take in the Philippines. A friend of mine have told me that she studied through modular form of BP. she took modules 1-3 in the Phinlippines and had her module 4 which is the clinical placement in australia for a month... Now she's an RN in australia... I tried to ask her where she took the module in our counrty but i guess she was busy... so im asking you guys if you know anything about this?

this was the Competence Assessment Service offered by Queensland before. But sadly, this has been discontinued.

Hi guys!

I just got another email from AHPRA a few days ago stating that a preliminary assessment of my application has been started already. The next stage will happen in the next 8 weeks. To those who are waiting for their letter, what did you received next after that email? I'm getting really excited everytime I received updates from them. Thanks!

I hope they got my Certificate of Stnding sent by PRC. Huhu. It is such an hassle going back to Cebu requesting for another one plus the money to pay for it. Seems like AHPRA always don't get the Certificate from their applicants. I just hope this is just a misconception though.

i hope your papers get approved without a glitch, i'm going to cebu next month, let me know if i can help. keep praying, it does wonders :heartbeat

Hello Everyone!

I'm new here and I hope you could help me on how to apply as a nurse in Australia. Is there a new pathway that i could take that is cheaper and faster? i heard there was an agency that came here in Cagayan de Oro that invited nurses to become eligible in Australia by taking a 3 weeks course here in the Phil. and 3 weeks in Australia. They offer a very enticing opportunity since it does not require the applicants to have an experience, board and lodging in Australia is free and that the Australian government is also assisting in their application. I don't know if this is reliable since it's too good to be true...hehehe...I just found out about it thru a friend...i hope you guyz can shed some light about this...thanks

this post by ishtin sound like the one you mention.

hello everyone!

I'll be attending one of the orientation of the agency i talked about regarding a different pathway of going to australia as a nurse. I'll just inform you all what it is really about once I know more about the process.

By the way, is there a Bridging Program being offered in Brisbane?

hey guys!! i was just wondering... If I send my application to the Australian Capital Territory, can I still enroll to a school from a different state? or should it be in the same state where I applied??

Like if I send it to Melbourne, Vic and they have considered me eligible for BP program.. can i still enroll in HPH which is located in western Australia??? or should i enroll in schools located in Victoria only?

I'm from Bohol.. Im planning to send mine by the end of this month.. I'm just waiting for the TOR form my graduate school... and will take them about 2 weeks to process.. I have already taken my IELTS, and its due to expire this june so i need to apply as soon as possible... Is there any place that can process faster? im worried my IELTS would expire before they receive my application.. Is Vic faster compared to ACT or other state?

Hi again guys... I just read from the Hollywood Private hospital requirements for BP that thay require a SENIOR FIRST AID CERTIFICATE... can anyone explain further about this? This is more than just the Standard First Aid Certificate, right? Does anyone know where we can get such certification in the Philippines??

PLEASE DO! I'd love to hear that[particular agency's offer! Last yr, a guy from IDP Cebu invited my friends and I to attend a seminar about Australian schools offering programs for nurses. The thing was the program would take for 1 year, plus tuition fee alone reached to about Php1M that time and that was last year pa! Nevertheless, I declined immediately. It's too much a waste of time for me.

I've been reading the first half of this thread now (now at page 1freakin'40!!!haha! and counting...) and have lodged my application just last week (which was waaay before I discovered this site which could have made my gathering-of-application-requirements a whole lot easier!). Anyway, from what I've gathered from reading here and from a little research from other websites, there are, sadly, no BPs offered in Brisbane. In Queensland as a whole, actually. I'm also sending my application there as my relatives who will be sponsoring me live there.

Are you going to apply in Brisbane as well?

Vic is definitely not faster. It's been 4 months since I lodged my application and counting. Why don't you try Perth? I saw in another blog that it took them just 6 weeks to process an application for registration. But that was a British applicant which was not required BP. But their requirements are the same as ours. So no harm in trying I guess.

Has anyone gotten an approval from Perth lately?
