New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Good day everyone! i'm new here. is it possible that there are agencies willing to shoulder the expenses for bridging program?? Thank you very much

Vic is definitely not faster. It's been 4 months since I lodged my application and counting. Why don't you try Perth? I saw in another blog that it took them just 6 weeks to process an application for registration. But that was a British applicant which was not required BP. But their requirements are the same as ours. So no harm in trying I guess.

Has anyone gotten an approval from Perth lately?

I see... but how long since you lodged your application before they emailed you that they have received it?? I just wanted them to know that i've lodged my application before my IELTS have expired... Do you know anything bout ACT? are they okay??

Got the same email from AHPRA just today, and still the waiting continues, but keeping the faith in prayer and going for it.:)

Hey 14162S001... when did you send your requirements?? how long did it take before they have acknowledged your application? thanks!

hey guys!! i was just wondering... If I send my application to the Australian Capital Territory, can I still enroll to a school from a different state? or should it be in the same state where I applied??

Like if I send it to Melbourne, Vic and they have considered me eligible for BP program.. can i still enroll in HPH which is located in western Australia??? or should i enroll in schools located in Victoria only?

@mhai

Once you have eligibility letter from aphra you can take the BP any state in australia.

mhai:

does that mean i can send my application for registration in ANY State in Australia and get BP from OTHER States if I get eligibility letter from AHPRA??

Snet mine Dec 6. Got email confirmation Jan 13 I think. If your IELTS is going to expire by June, you might have a hard time with enrolling in a BP school with an expired IELTS. They also require a valid IELTS result.

You still can send your application by May with your current IELTS result. But I suggest you retake your IELTS now or in May just to make sure your application with AHPRA will not hit a snag. You might waste your ahpra application fee. Just make sure to get the required minimum score again.

In my case, I submitted my application last Dec because my IELTS will expire this Sept.

I guess so... as long as ahpra has already approved you for a BP...

Are you sure about this joiemike?? cause I have a friend, she's in australia and she hasn't passed her ielts of all 7... so her case officer told her that she could just send a certificate from her secondary school stating that English was the medium of instruction used... Will all BP schools require an IELTS result??

I sent my application last February to AHPRA VIC. and after a week, they sent me an auto-generated email acknowledging the receipt of my application and documents. :)

Wow... that fast?? are all states that fast in acknowledging the application or only victoria?? Anyone received an acknowledgement from ACT lately??

Can anyone please direct me on which site I can have my official IELTS result be forwarded to AHPRA? I took my test in Cebu....

And how long will it take for them to send the result?

Did you go through an agency when you paid for the exam? I also took mine in Cebu. I had my review agency send a request form (I forgot what it was called though one member of this forum posted it before) along with a manager's check of Php1200 to IDP Makati who will then send an official result to AHPRA. As to how long it would take for them to send it or for AHPRA to receive it, that I do not know. I requested for them to send it about 2 weeks ago and I have yet to hear from them.

Yup. Just look over the websites of the different BP schools accredited by ahpra. One of the prerequisites for enrollment is the IELTS. As for the validity of your current IELTS result is the question. By the time ahpra will approve your application for BP, your IELTS would have lapsed its 2 year validity already.

I'm just saying is you just go on and submit your application. Better yet, you can request for a transmittal of your IELTS result earlier than your application. They don't have to be simultaneous. Just wait for the case officer to give you feedback. You can cross the bridge when you get there. I think it's better this way than retaking IELTS now and run the risk of not getting the minimum score in all bands. At the end, it's all up to you. ;)
