New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hi!

Yes, I'm still completing the requirements and then

scraping up money for the registration fee.

I had my IELTS already so just the papers and money

then I'm good to go.

How about you? xx

:):)

wow! congrats! my documents are not yet certified.I still don't have cv and statement of service.how about you? what's your email add by the way?

@ilove83080: thanks for the reply..i already passed ielts but it will expire on july next year.i'm still completing the requirements.good luck n god bless.. :)

@cindy_b: do u already have statement of service and cv?

guys, i don't know what to do regarding cv(gaps in your practice.what will i write if i didn't practice nursing for 1 year?)

dear, what have u done during this 1 year without working?

i´ll give you my example:

i was 6 months unemployedand i explained to them that after i finished college i started applying for jobs and menawhile i studied for the ielts for almost 5 months, took it twice;took some nursing courses, too, until i finally found a job.

question #17: do you commit to only practice the profession if you have appropriate professional indemnity insurance arrangements in place? yes or no/na

is it ok to submit the photocopy of certified copy of documents? if ur docs are not english, certified copies r required together with a tarnslation by a notary public

ielts result and certificate of good standing are the only documents to be passed directly to ahpra by the testing center and prc, right? yes

hope i have helped...

thank you.. :)

I don't have statement of service since I don't have experience. lol

But I'm still sending my application anyway.

I'm not sure if I have chances of getting accepted but I still wanna take the chance.

lemme try if I can send you a DM for my email add. Xx :):)

1) generally pls be careful in dealing with agencies.. if there are car and bicycle available, agencies will sell to you

the car, and will not tell you the option of bicycle (unless you ask for it).. you end up spending more..

2) as far as i know all BP are in Australia.. unless there is BP school that offers online education on certain subjects of its BP course..

3) so that we will be at equal footing so to speak, kindly read page 01 of this thread..

4) even if your immigration lawyer or agent is Sen. President Enrile or Chief Justice Corona, it will not accelerate the processing of your AHPRA nursing registration.. you will fall in line just like the rest of us... And frankly speaking, as in frankly speaking, there are more well-informed knowledgable members here in this thread regarding AHPRA registration than those agency or immi lawyers there in the Phils... and it's free..

5) cheaper and faster? sorry, not existing.. it is expensive and slower now as compared prior AHPRA..

-Thank you so much everyone for all the advice and help. I will take all this in mind. hehehe

certificate of good standing is state board verification slip? right?

ishtin:

sir?

just abm? its like an acronym for something.. if its abm its not same.. cos my friend said the agency they are talking about is "philman". seriously, its a bit too good to be true if everything is free and they don't require work experience.

about the reqs:

hey im not 100% sure this is all but i got this from previous forums. i think by glioblastoma and others. please read back, everything especially the first few pages are very informative:

1.certified true copy of my passport

2.ctc of diploma

3.ctc of the certificate of registration from prc

4.ctc of tor + rle

5.ctc of licence card , passport

6.ielts (don't send it. idp must send this instead)

7.nbi (certified)- cioman indentify his purpose like this for australian nursing registration and glioblastoma send 2 kinds local and abroad

8. statement of service (original)

9.cv check (original)- check ahpra website for the format

10.certificate of good standing (original)(don't send it. prc must send this instead)

maybe the it depends on how and compliant and resourceful you are and if you don't read the older posts..(!!!) immigration lawyer maybe helpful when you are applying for visas, migration and immigration but heller?? if you are not compliant also with the lawyer what do you think? goodluck (na lang) amigo.

hi again, just a quick question, for the second courses, when submitting the ctc of the diploma, do we need to submit the diploma of our first course? or just the diploma for our nursing course? thanks in advance guys!:nurse:

I AM SO DEAD! I've read the first hundred posts until I got to Glio's where he posted the reply he got from AHPRA. And I am so dead. I sent them my application last week along, of course, with my CV which was signed by one person only. The chief nurse of the hospital where I volunteered! I did not sign it as per page 4 of the application form "... Be signed and dated by your employer..." There was no mention of 'the applicant' signing it. UGH! I am so dead...

Don't worry. Once the assessment of your papers start, your case officer will just email you of any other documents you might lack. He might just ask you to send another copy of your cv. ;)

Oh, I hope so. :crying2: Anyway, there's the signature of the Chief Nurse on my CV so I'm also hoping that it will be enough to convince them that the document is an original. How long does it take for them to email an applicant about 'lacking' documents?

Here's my timeline.

Submitted my application : Dec 6, 2011

Received email confirmation that they received my application : Jan 9, 2011

Application fee charged to my credit card : Mar 4, 2011

Received notice that they have not received my PRC cert of good standing (maybe they misplaced it): Mar 24, 2011

Resent another copy of PRC cert of Good Standing : Mar 25, 2011

Received confirmation they received my PRC cert (through phone call) and that I have a case officer that is currently assessing all the rest of my documents : Apr 11, 2011

It's been 4 months from the time since I lodged my application and still waiting. But at least ahpra told me I can call my case officer anytime for a status update. ;)

Please Help!!

I have been following this thread since 2008 but I was able to lodge my application last January 2011, IELTS issues! :lol2:

I just received a letter from AHPRA telling me that some of my documents were not properly signed by an approved signatory. I had all my documents certified by a notary public. What should I do?
