Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
hi! health care (including nursing) law changed in july 1, and the transition phase is july 1-sept14. i just submitted mine and i think it will reach ahpra by sep18. my papers are going to be processed (i think) by the fully transitioned ahpra. i think their more stricter now. imo they will be able to process faster because they have fully-transitioned into the new law already (redundant to the nth power haha!). i am so ready to be rejected, denied and die! ahihi!
I hope things will go well on your application. Good luck and have faith! Pls update us when u recieved their reply. I will check out this forum regularly. I plan to submit mine after I delivered my baby. I am due this Oct. Good luck and my prayers are with you.
hi everyone!a couple of hours ago, i sent my documents via fedex and asked idp to forward my trf, both to AHPRA victoria. why did i send it to ahpra victoria branch anyway? i also went to prc, but my certificate of good standing won't be available until wednesday! grrr! i think my credentials will reach AHPRA-Vic come monday. the agony of waiting starts! i hope they reply soon...courier service is very expensive!
when i was in prc, i was again discouraged by the long lines and hot temperature there (as usual, nothing changed). so i decided to just send my prc certificate (that i already have with me) instead of going through all the tedious process just to get a certificate of good standing. however, the people at DHL (courier) inside prc advised me not to send my prc certificate because prc only issues 1 original copy...is this true? so i still have to return to prc on wednesday to have them deliver my certificate of good standing to AHPRA-Vic
i miss manila. suddenly i'm nostalgic!
hi glio,
pls clarify...
What PRC Certificate are you referring? Is that the Diploma /sizetype with your sexy 2x2 picture? or are you referring to another doc? my guess you mean that diploma sizetype, so my answer will be based on that fact:
This is what i know, (just please double check with AHPRA), you are supposed to xerox that PRC Cert. and have it certified/notarized AND SEND THAT DOCUMENT together with the other documents you had just sent; so if you did not include it, sadly they will look for it, so you must send a certified copy of that (additional courier cost)..
Do not send that original copy you have with you which you claim from PRC office way back then after you passed the NLE..
AHPRA will need the cert. of good standing.. no choice but you must follow up it with PRC, and i assume that you already know that YOU MUST NOT SEND THE CERT. OF GOOD STANDING by YOURSELF... The PRC office itself should be the one which will send it directly to AHPRA..
Okidoks..
HELP PLEASE.....
Im in Davao City,.. the Australian Embassy is in Metro Manila.. HOW SHOULD I SEND MY PASSPORT TO THE AUS. EMBASSY?? ...they say that in sending passport for 456 application, you will send it by "private courier"?? i dont know?? is there a specific authorized courier that the Embassy require??
how do they send it back to me?
I am a bit concern that the courier might lose my passport?? that would be a disaster!! ...im even considering of going there personally to process the "stamping" of my visa in my passport...
Please advise.. Help please..

hi!
prc cert = cert of registration status = diploma type cert with sexy (haha!) 2x2 pic (am i right?)
i also mailed to ahpra a certified true copy of my prc cert (for "proof of identity" purposes)
about the cert of good standing, it will only be available come wed., so i will have to return to prc next week. i asked them about "how prc will send the cert of good standing", and the lady in the window 16 told me that:
1. i should get a self-sealing stamp envelope (whatever that envelope is called) in prc and place my cert of good standing there. then, i am free to choose which courier. although i'm the one who sent the cert of good standing, it's like prc sent it because of the self-sealing stamp envelope.
2. another method: there is a dhl wwe courier inside prc. they will ask if the sender will be you or prc.
sorry if this is a bit confusing. but are these accurate instructions on how to get prc to send cert of good standing to ahpra? which is which? or should i do both?
* i used blue instead of red to stress important details. red reminds me of unjustified hemorrhaging of ncps r/t terror professors who use red pens to check ncps . how nostalgic! ahihi!

hi! thanks for you prayers! (though i'm 99%pessimist .5%neutral .5%realistic, ahihi) do you have all the requirements with you? if yes, why wait until after delivery? mood changes happen during post-partum, right? ahihi!

oh my god!! is this serious? cerficate that is supposed to be sent directly to ahpra so no one can tamper with it, is advised by the your registering authority how to get around the australian system.......mmmmmmm
the board requires a certificate of registration status or
certificate of good standing from every jurisdiction outside
australia in which you are currently, or have previously been
registered as a health practitioner during the last 5 years.
you must arrange for original certificates to be forwarded directly
from the licensing or registration authority to the nursing and
midwifery board of australia. for further information, refer t
its direct alright literally from the otherside of the window, the client actually can get hold of it? and then sends it from the prc office?
When I informed the PRC officer (in Manila) that the NBV requires the cert to be sent by them, they just asked me to provide the address and pay the mailing fee. After giving them the receipt, I was then provided with a stub and advised to call their office after 2 weeks for confirmation.

hi glio,
first of all i do not know what prc branch office you are transacting.. me in davao city branch, in requesting for "certificate of good standing", i just apply, fill up the form, give instruction that i want it sent via "fastest mail ever in the whole world" and then i pay the fees.. 3 days after, i just make a phone call to the prc staff-in-charge to follow up the status of my request,i.e. did they already prepare, sign and mail it.. they will just answer yes or no.. simple as that.. no sweat..
if you notice how jerk they are, imagine this, in manila when you take the board exam, they allow you to wear wrist watch.. in davao city, they dont allow you to wear wrist watch, if you think about it, "so whats the difference between manila board exam and davao? nothing! so wats the difference between manila prc and davao? supposedly nothing because they are both under one agency... but thats how jerk they are.. to think the "p" in the prc is "professional"..
3 documents pertinent to your phil. nursing registration:
i do not know waht is taht "cert. of registration status" that you mentioned above.... technically speaking, that "prc diploma" is not a "cert. of registration status", but it is a "cert. of registration"... see the difference..
peace..

oh yah.. this is the same with davao city procedure.. makes me wonder, where the heck that PRC branch that glio is transacting, but i know it is outside manila based on his previous post..

hello,
i know there is so much information, and that is the main reason why i wrote PAGE 1 of this THREAD to help new members like you.. kindly read it as advised by remi-rios..
nway to answer directly some of your questions:
- she can get visa without you marrying her, that is if you qualify for "de facto relationship".. check it out in www.diac.gov.au website..
- bridging program, costs, sponsorship issues are discussed in page 1 and page 2..
- fastest and cheapiest way is to go on bridging program, get sponsored for a job (whereby she will be approved of 457 "working" visa), live happily with you while she is working, then after 1 year of working in Aus she can start filing for independent skilled migration..
- at this time, with 110 points, she cannot pass the point system.. better do the steps i mentioned above and then after working for around 1 year in Australia, she will be entitled to "10 points".. Thus, 10 pts. plus 110 pts. equals 120 which is the passing mark.. therefor, thats the time she can start filing for the migration as i mentioned above..
I believe that i have addressed your concerns appropriately.. Good luck to you, and your lucky to have a Filipina wife.. (dont know if you have a Filipino blood or if your pure Irish..
