Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
Oh my God!! is this serious? Cerficate that is supposed to be sent directly to AHPRA so no one can tamper with it, is advised by the your Registering authority how to get around the Australian system.......mmmmmmmThe Board requires a Certificate of Registration Status or
Certificate of Good Standing from every jurisdiction outside
Australia in which you are currently, or have previously been
registered as a health practitioner during the last 5 years.
You must arrange for original Certificates to be forwarded directly
from the licensing or registration authority to the Nursing and
Midwifery Board of Australia. For further information, refer t
Its direct alright literally from the otherside of the window, the client actually can get hold of it? and then sends it from the PRC office?

hi ceridwyn! you wanna know more exciting stuff? ahihi!
When I informed the PRC officer (in Manila) that the NBV requires the cert to be sent by them, they just asked me to provide the address and pay the mailing fee. After giving them the receipt, I was then provided with a stub and advised to call their office after 2 weeks for confirmation.

hi mynalla!
that was also what's in my mind. i will just pay PRC to have my cert of good standing sent by them (PRC) to AHPRA. until the lady at window 16 and the people at DHL inside PRC told me otherwise. i'm talking about PRC Manila. thank you for clarifying this...
@cioman
first of all i do not know what prc branch office you are transacting.. me in davao city branch, in requesting for "certificate of good standing", i just apply, fill up the form, give instruction that i want it sent via "fastest mail ever in the whole world" and then i pay the fees.. 3 days after, i just make a phone call to the prc staff-in-charge to follow up the status of my request,i.e. did they already prepare, sign and mail it.. they will just answer yes or no.. simple as that.. no sweat..
what you said is what is in my mind of how prc will send my cert of good standing to ahpra. until i was told otherwise...thank you for enlightening me on this one
if you notice how jerk they are, imagine this, in manila when you take the board exam, they allow you to wear wrist watch.. in davao city, they dont allow you to wear wrist watch, if you think about it, "so whats the difference between manila board exam and davao? nothing! so wats the difference between manila prc and davao? supposedly nothing because they are both under one agency... but thats how jerk they are.. to think the "p" in the prc is "professional"..
the aussies might read this and think that prc (or even filipinos and phil rns) are jerks! hehehehe
3 documents pertinent to your phil. nursing registration:
i do not know waht is taht "cert. of registration status" that you mentioned above.... technically speaking, that "prc diploma" is not a "cert. of registration status", but it is a "cert. of registration"... see the difference..
when i return to prc on monday i will clarify this...
peace..
ggod day again mates. been absent for a couple of months so i could concentrate on my pregnancy.:) well been lurking around every now and then. glad that we have a new thread which makes it easier to understand especially with the aphra thing. i went to idp-adelaide few months ago and got the good news last august that Flinders Uni has already accepted my application to study. the bad news is: i need to take the bachelor of nursing for 2yrs! i wasnt allowed to take the shorter pathway....forgot the reason (must be the anesthesia:clown:). i'm already here in SA for a year now under a aspouse visa and thought that I will be paying a lesser tuition fee, coz that's what was fed to me before. but since i am not yet a PR, i will be paying the regular international student fee which will cost me 10,000AUD. ryan led me to another agency (forgot the name) which contacted me last december but i need to take it in victoria. being a newlywed, my husband did not permit me to relocate even for a short time, plus the fact that i got pregnant. i just had my baby last 14th of september this yr. in a local hospital and asked the rn/rm if there is still a high demand of nurses here in SA. and yes, there is still a high demand:yeah: so let's keep all our hopes high. btw, i might enroll in flinders and get some units, probably take the course in 2-3yrs time. plans changed since the bub came. and another btw, i'm a second courser who took bsn for 3yrs. cheers to all of us!
you inspire me to get a someone who will take me australia and live happily ever after! ahihi!
hi drednag's wife! thank you for your help and congratulations to your husband.. i have another question in the application form that you might help me with..
21. do you or any other person included in this application, intend to work as, or study to be a doctor, nurse dentist or paramedic during your stay in Australia? no or yes,if yes give details.
did your husband answer yes? and what details did he give? im having doubts with answering this one bcoz im not sure if the bridging program is considered as studying?
hope u could help me with this one.. tnx and best wishes to u and your husband!
you inspire me to get a someone who will take me australia and live happily ever after! ahihi!

hi! thanks for the compliment. but i don't think i rock at all. i'm just a lowly volunteer nurse after all with no place in the nursing career hehe (sorry, accidental verbalization of lack of self-esteem feelings ahihi)
oh yah.. this is the same with davao city procedure.. makes me wonder, where the heck that PRC branch that glio is transacting, but i know it is outside manila based on his previous post..
hi! the prc branch i'm talking about is the one in manila. i see that my post regarding the cert of good standing shocked a couple of forumers here. ahihi!
I do not want to appear annoyed or rude........but if you have read this thread, you would have understood that the new board began on July 1 2010, AHpra, is the combination of many health professions and therefore it has been a massive undertaking...you would have also read that no nurse has yet been assessed by the new board, we have no idea how long it will take for a nurse to be assessed it does state 60 days is mentioned somewhere, but while this board is still in transition...the answer is......how long is a piece of string...... CPS lie....they have processed newly grad. Australian trained nurses and midwives.

i remember the lady in window 16 told me something like this too. but she said it's the regular mail and not the courier. so i opted for the other route she instructed to me...
