New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

I will start by BP at VHCN this Jan 3 2011. Anyone in the same batch?

1.5 to 2k aud per m0nth of stay should be enough show money. In my case before i only had 300k php in my acct and my 456 was approved. If you have more than that i think that would be great. Although I know of a colleague who only had 100k php plus a letter of support from an australian resident relative whose 456 was also approved, it would be advisable to be on the safe side and show at least 300k php.

Are NBI Clearance and Police Clearance included in the list of requirements to be sent to NMBA?

pls doublec check ahpra website, but i believe that "police criminal check" is a requirement.. for phil. applicant, the NBI clearance is sufficient, no need for police or swat clearance or fiscal or barangay clearance..

good luck..

hi! I think that the cert of registration status (that AHPRA requires) pertains to whether a professional has limitations, been suspended, revoked license, and the like. so the certificate of good standing (issued by PRC) can satisfy this requirement...but this is just my theory :jester:

i just came from PRC. because of the long lines and hot temperature, i got lazy about asking the difference b/w PRC cert vs cert of good standing vs cert of registration status... :clown:

the purpose are the same.. but if you will go to PRC office and ask for a "cert. of registration status" or "verification of license", then the window girl will tell you, "okey boy, where is your form, give it to me baby so we can fill it up"... of course you do not have the form because AHPRA do not have one for that.. so instead, you should ask "hey window girl, i want a "certif. of good standing".. then she will reply, "no probs boy, just pay and will process it"..

NZ wants a "verification of license/registration" and not a cert. of good standing.. and their website have a form where you will submit to window girl for them to fill up and submit to NZ..

thats the aesthetic technical difference.. nothing deeply philosophical..

peace..:)

hi! i e-mailed AHPRA about this same question of yours. although AGOS-04 will only require supporting documents when you answered yes if you have a criminal record inside and outside Au, AHPRA replied to my e-mail that i should also provide supporting documents that say i don't have a criminal record inside and outside Au. so i included a photocopy (not certified) of 2 NBIs, one for local and one for abroad. i think NBI weigh heavier than police clearance so NBI would suffice...:jester::clown::smokin::D:idea::p:redpinkhe:yeah::eek::redbeathe:devil:;)

congratulations! when did you submit your documents and how long did you wait for a reply? does VCHN require exp? how many years? do they recognize volunteer exp? which body assessed u, NBV or AHPRA?

hi! i agree with u on this one. but i don't have a rationale why nbi and not police clearance...

HELP PLEASE.....

Im in Davao City,.. the Australian Embassy is in Metro Manila.. HOW SHOULD I SEND MY PASSPORT TO THE AUS. EMBASSY?? ...they say that in sending passport for 456 application, you will send it by "private courier"?? i dont know?? is there a specific authorized courier that the Embassy require??

how do they send it back to me?

I am a bit concern that the courier might lose my passport?? that would be a disaster!! ...im even considering of going there personally to process the "stamping" of my visa in my passport...

Please advise.. Help please..

Hi dear!

U can trsut the courier! The embassy will deliver ur passport back safely....I had the same experience when I was renewing my American visa....

Unfortunately, we have to send the original passport to the embassy.....but u can trust them!

thanks! i may be asking more questions when i start filling up my AGOS-04 form.. :)

By the way, for those applying with IDP cebu, please do your own research as well.. thanks to this forum, i almost got fooled. I was made to believe that my only option was the BN(P) but when I emailed the school and read thru APHRA website, I found out that I can apply for the BP and that the program offered to me by IDP Cebu was for those who didn't get 7 in each skill of the IELTS exam. I already received my letter of offer for the BNP program..thank god i didn't pay the tuition and all yet. I would have wasted a lot of money and time.
