Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

By the way, for those applying with IDP cebu, please do your own research as well.. thanks to this forum, i almost got fooled. I was made to believe that my only option was the BN(P) but when I emailed the school and read thru APHRA website, I found out that I can apply for the BP and that the program offered to me by IDP Cebu was for those who didn't get 7 in each skill of the IELTS exam. I already received my letter of offer for the BNP program..thank god i didn't pay the tuition and all yet. I would have wasted a lot of money and time.
its good you brought this up agen.. i had been injecting your type of experience above once in a while in this forum.. so ill discuss this agen for the sake of others......... like in previous pages i talked about "apple and orange" sample story which is basically what happened to you, and i kept on asking why should we enrol in 6-12 mos. course when you can do it via 3 mos. BP.. these things ive been raising from time to time, and i just hope that people take this warning seriously as indeed what you said something happened to you, which is the classic "apple orange" sample ive been babbling here ever since..
okey just to repeat "apple orange" story... if im the agency i have an apple and an orange in my ref.. i will only tell you that i have an apple from which i could earn more.. i will not tell you about orange, unless you inquire, but since in most cases applicants are not knowledgable, they automatically buy the apple without knowing the orange.. and if they learned the orange, its too late, they spent much already.. agencies do not lie, they just do not tell you everything unless you ask so,... thats how it works..
at the end of the day... its your money, not mine..
hi! i agree with u on this one. but i don't have a rationale why nbi and not police clearance...
nursing rationale..
actually, the complete definition of a police/criminal check clearance based on the Australian viewpoint is that it should be issued by an institution with "national character" and "encompasses nationally".. the NBI has a national character and its database encompasses the whole philippines, because they are online with one major database.. our police (which are very effective when it comes to hostage taking) is yes national in character but their database does not encompasses the whole phils.. thus, police clearance you will get is "true" only within that city or region that issued it..
thatz why, NBI clearance is heavier and the only criminal check docu that is acceptable to all foreign embassies in the phils.. i thank you..
hi Girlassh, who interviewed you? is it the school or someone from APHRA? what was the interview about, if you don't mind.. thanks
sorry for the intrusion,,, interviewer would be VCHN (not AHPRA), they will interview applicants for them to decide if they will give you slot or not..
whew! 10th to 11th.. which makes me think, when dealing with VCHN, i think you should be clear and assertive with your slot when given one.. i just cant imagine the slot taken away from her with the excuse that they were not able to contact her either by phone or email.. errrrr.. makes me wonder... dont you think so..
hi! i e-mailed AHPRA about this same question of yours. although AGOS-04 will only require supporting documents when you answered yes if you have a criminal record inside and outside Au, AHPRA replied to my e-mail that i should also provide supporting documents that say i don't have a criminal record inside and outside Au. so i included a photocopy (not certified) of 2 NBIs, one for local and one for abroad. i think NBI weigh heavier than police clearance so NBI would suffice...
:redpinkhe:yeah:
:redbeathe:devil:
im not questioning your NBI papers sent, anyway it was already sent.. just for others, i would suggest to send a certified copy of your NBI clearance, ya knw jst to be sure for the sake of being OCD.. and just get and send ONE NBI clearance and indicated as "for Australian nursing registration" or "Australian requirement".. thats enaf.. peace..
my LITANY of WORRIES... (starts praying hail mary full of grace...and mary, queen of experienced and inexperienced RNs, pray for us...ahihi!)

Hi Glioblastoma
Really envious that you completed all the requirements.
I've been visiting the ahpra website and I'm quite confuse with all the requirements.
This is my conclusion: I need to pass
1.Certified true copy of my passport
2.CTC of diploma
3.CTC of the certificate of registration from PRC
4.CTC of TOR
5.CTC of licence card
6.IELTS
7.NBI
8. Statement of service
9.CV
10.Certificate of good standing
11. CTC of birth certificate ( I'm not sure about this one)
Am I correct?
Is the certified true copy of passport enough to satisfy the requirements for the proof of identity?
Thanks!!
hi glioblastoma hi aking_skyereally envious that you completed all the requirements. please don't. i'm just a volunteer nurse, standing in front of ahpra, waiting for them to kick me! ahihi!
i've been visiting the ahpra website and i'm quite confuse with all the requirements.
this is my conclusion: i need to pass
1.certified true copy of my passport check
2.ctc of diploma check
3.ctc of the certificate of registration from prc check (for proof of identity)
4.ctc of tor check
5.ctc of licence card check
6.ielts check (don't send it. idp must send this instead)
7.nbi check (certified)
8. statement of service check (original)
9.cv check (original)
10.certificate of good standing (original) (don't send it. prc must send this instead)
11. ctc of birth certificate ( i'm not sure about this one) cross (they only accept au bith cert)
am i correct? you are correct on almost everything
is the certified true copy of passport enough to satisfy the requirements for the proof of identity? i think not
thanks!! sure no prob! please read below for my additional suggestions
_____
hi aking_skye! please don't be envious. i'm a nobody. anyway...
(i) documents to be certified:
passport
license
diploma, tor+rle, board rating, and other academic qualifications
(ii) original documents sent by you:
curriculum vitae
statement(s) of service
(iii) original documents sent by prc:
certificate of good standing (buy the express one so you will get it on the same day)
(iv) original documents sent by idp:
test report form of your ielts
(v) other needed documents:
nbi
medical certificate (stating you are fit to practice)
additional qualifications
additional registration details
note: have all photocopied documents certified even though those stated in (i) are the only ones needed to be certified, for the sake of ocd, and also this is an advice by ahpra when i em-mailed them. so in short have (i) and (v) certified
about the birth cert, i think you will only need this if you are an au citizen...
advice on nbi:
cioman94: when you get an nbi, write in the application form that the purpose is for australian nursing registration glioblastoma: i got myself 2 nbis, one for local and one for abroad. the rationale is that ahpra asks if the applicant has a criminal record inside and outside australia
best advice: combine both! haha! now you're really an ocd! whatever! choose whichever is more convenient for u! amen!
:redpinkhe
:redbeathe
my proofs of identity:
category a: australian tourist visa
category b: phil passport; international driving permit (include also local driver's license and aap membership card)
category c: prc cert; prc license
category d: bank certificate
i think i did something wrong with my proofs of identity. i think i wasted php1800 for the intl driving permit. whatever! at least my organs and body parts have one year of insurance! ahihi!

Hi guys! Im still processing my visa so i still dont know how much show money is needed. let me share u my experience in applying for VCHN. My interview with VCHN last July went well. They told me I would be part of the NOvember batch and I waited for a month for the enrollment offer letter. I called them a couple of times and they said just to wait for the letter. After 2 weeks, they told me they tried contacting me through phone and email, but I did not receive any. They said they gave my November slot so another applicant then they gave emailed me the offer letter for January on the same day I called them. I remained positive and thought that maybe January is the best time for me to go to Aus. My offer letter states that my tuiton fee is 10K AUD. I was about to pay the tuiton fee this week and called regarding my slot. They said my slot is still safe but the tuiton fee that is in my offer letter would be 11K already because they just had a meeting that they will have a tuiton fee increase. Again, I am devistated.
