New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

thanks much glioblastoma :) i guess i'll do the same as you did just to be sure... how do we know which APHRA branch we want to have our application sent? I want to apply for a school in Victoria (University of Ballarat to be exact)...

i really don't know myself. everyone's sending there requirements to Victoria so i sent mine there too ahihi. in addition, the majority of BP schools are in Victoria.

but i have a theory that processing is faster in NSW branch. because i went to AHPRA NSW 2 months ago, and i was the only applicant there, compared to the very congested PRC Manila ahihi. plus whenever i e-mail AHPRA, the fastest to reply are the customer service agents in NSW. but all of these are just my opinion...:clown:

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie in this thread and I'm very happy that I found this forum. I just finished reading this thread from the very first part until here. Whew! It took me several days to finished everything and as a matter of fact, I also did notes on important facts shared by the forumers.

I graduated last 2008 and passed the NLE too. I am interested in doing the BP in Australia specifically in Melbourne. I am just now gathering all the documents I need before I move to the next step. Slowly but surely. My target actually is for next year, I just hope there are still available slots by then.

Can I ask some questions?

Regarding the Certificate of good standing from the PRC, what does it look like or what's the content? I just wanna know beforehand before the PRC office is quite far from where I lived so I just wanna make sure. I actually have the board rating, is that another thing? Thanks

Thank you.... really thank you

are you really serious???????? if you are, then please please please please please READ page 01 of this Thread, for your own good.... in the early previous pages of this thread, there is a list of schools you can check on.. i i forgot the exact page and i just woke up & not in the mood to browse it, so just please please please browse the pages and you will find what you're looking for, actually your question has just been partially discussed in page 27 or 28... the patience of managing our FB could be used in browsing this thread, men, this will save you a lot of money.... $25,000 ???!!!!! whew!! ...thats broad daylight robbery for me....

after reading page 01, and if you have questions, then we will either directly answer it, or refer you to a page or refer you to a website or advice you what to do... we will help you as you will help yourself.. peace..

actually the 25,000 is a tuition fee set by the university I'm planning to enter to.... but thank you for the info.. I really want another school offering the same program with lesser expense....

hmmm....did you apply through IDP?

Sorry, I don't know what IDP means... But i was searching over the net then i inquired in a certain university then they gave me an estimate of the whole year's tuition fee which is $25,000

hi! i just want to ask. if one wishes to declare that he/she passed the NCLEX-RN, what are the additional documents that AHPRA will require?

for compact states such as Vermont, New Mexico...verification of license, license itself...? what else?

what about for states like California where although one is an nclex-rn passer but not a holder of license due to the inability to get an ssn?

hmmm....did you apply through IDP?

After a short surf through the net, I already know what IDP is.. anyway.. I was a little bit confused about the conversion program and bridge program... I read an earlier post in this thread about this matter (I think it was you who posted it?, anyway) that claims conversion and bp are the same but not quite sure, i've read later posts but i didn't find any that might answer the uncertainty... now, can you pls pls tell me if conversion and bp are the same..

i'm still in page 11 of this thread and it's so informative..thank you all who posted earlier...

upon reading the list of requirements by glio, it made ask... do i need to include in my requirements my medical certificate already? i mean req for submission to APHRA. i thought that would be for VISA purposes already.. kindly clarify :) coz I thought i had everything already except for my Cert of good standing which will be available monday yet. and as for the IELTS, you mean i don't need to send along a copy of my result? how do i request for that to be sent to APRHA from IDP? thanks again!

- medical cert... nope, just for visa.. and as glio said, needed if you say "yes" to impairment/disability..

- ielts... the last time i check, IDP should send a copy directly to AHPRA (which is expensive of course).. what i did then, was to xerox my TRF and had it certified and sent together with my application/other docs, and also requested for IDP to send one directly.. it is just a means for me to make evaluators job easier (which will rebound to your benefit)..

- victoria?? yep because most skuls are there... the last time i check is that AHPRA eligibility letter is acceptable to any state (thatz my last information i had).. in that case as glio said, and now i will "reveal" that which will benefit only those who will read this..... girl, why do we have to line up in a long queue when there are shorter ones, e.g. NSW, TASMANIA, QUEENSLAND, ECOLAND, NORTHERN TERRITORY... makes sense, right.. it does.. until AHPRA changes its rules, otherwise, itz a go.... i;ll make a rational guess, if you will file application now in Hobart Tasmania, you will receive approval quicker than Victorian applicants.... perhaps youll get it in one month versus 6 months of glio,, oops glio will kill me on this.... peace..

hi Aking_skye! please don't be envious. i'm a nobody. :confused::uhoh3::eek::yawn::mad: anyway...

(I) documents to be certified:

passport

license

diploma, TOR+RLE, board rating, and other academic qualifications

(II) original documents sent by you:

Curriculum Vitae

Statement(s) of Service

(III) original documents sent by PRC:

certificate of good standing (buy the express one so you will get it on the same day)

(IV) original documents sent by IDP:

test report form of your IELTS

(V) other needed documents:

NBI

medical certificate (stating you are fit to practice)

additional qualifications

additional registration details

note: have ALL photocopied documents certified even though those stated in (I) are the only ones needed to be certified, for the sake of OCD, and also this is an advice by AHPRA when i em-mailed them. so in short have (I) and (V) certified

about the birth cert, i think you will only need this if you are an Au citizen...

advice on NBI:

cioman94: when you get an NBI, write in the application form that the purpose is for australian nursing registration glioblastoma: i got myself 2 NBIs, one for local and one for abroad. the rationale is that AHPRA asks if the applicant has a criminal record inside and outside australia

best advice: combine both! haha! now you're really an OCD! whatever! choose whichever is more convenient for u! amen! :jester: :clown: :smokin: :coollook: :D  :lol2: :redpinkhe :yeah: :nurse: :redbeathe ;)

my proofs of identity:

category A: australian tourist visa

category B: phil passport; international driving permit (include also local driver's license and AAP membership card)

category C: prc cert; prc license

category D: bank certificate

i think i did something wrong with my proofs of identity. i think i wasted PhP1800 for the intl driving permit. whatever! at least my organs and body parts have one year of insurance! ahihi!

I have a question about the PRC and IDP sending the certificate part.. should the certificate arrive after the application form has been received by the AHPRA? or should it arrive at the same time with the application form... (is this a non-sense question)... i hope somebody still answer this one...:):uhoh3:

dont worry, its a simple but a very valid question.... this one, i will directly answer you..... it is better if your application will arrive first before the PRC and IDP docs.. just make a note on your application that you have already requested the PRC and IDP that they will send docs..etc. etc.... and so you application will be filed in their system, and once they receive the PRC and IDP docs, then they could be easily filed to your applications received earlier...

- if you really have the US license, then xerox the license and have it certified true copy... and you send a request to the appropriate nursing board for a "verification of license" which will be sent by them directly to AHPRA.. (Warning: Vermont license cannot be xeroxed because the word "void" will appear in the xeroxed copy.. the solution is go to the photo studio and have your license take a picture.. with that picture, you xeroxed that picture and certified true copy it)... men, im not kidding on this, im serious, yes i did it that way.. dats not illegal anyway, indeed i have vermont license, so im not lying..

- the issue of California nclex passer was discussed somewhere in the last 10-25 pages of the PART 1 of this THREAD, there was an extensive discussion and opinion on that, considering that Cali nclex passer have a unique case vs. other US license holders... you can find answers there and various opinions in said pages..
