Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

victoria?? yep because most skuls are there... the last time i check is that AHPRA eligibility letter is acceptable to any state (thatz my last information i had).. in that case as glio said, and now i will "reveal" that which will benefit only those who will read this..... girl, why do we have to line up in a long queue when there are shorter ones, e.g. NSW, TASMANIA, QUEENSLAND, ECOLAND, NORTHERN TERRITORY... makes sense, right.. it does.. until AHPRA changes its rules, otherwise, itz a go.... i;ll make a rational guess, if you will file application now in Hobart Tasmania, you will receive approval quicker than Victorian applicants.... perhaps youll get it in one month versus 6 months of glio,, oops glio will kill me on this.... peace..
so u agree with my theory that other branches have faster processing. omg i feel stupid already. i've already thought about it but still i sent it to victoria just to go with the flow haha! why is this issue being raised just now when my documents are already in victoria? hahaha! i'm an OCD therefore the waiting period is 6months ahihi!
Hi. Just got an email from VCHN. They offered me a slot for June 2011. It's surprising that slots for the earlier clinical placements are already full as of today. But they said that they can bring me to the earliest date if there will be an extra slot. So that means that if someone gives up their slot, they can give it to me, but in order for them to do that, I have to pay a 1,000 AUD for reservation. Is it really how it works?
@ cioman and glioblastomaYou guys just confirmed my theory, I so love your interactions.
Keep them coming!!
I will send my application to NSW or Tasmania.
Peace glio:lol2:
itz still a theory but based on good grounds.. at the end of the day, we jst hav to wait and see for a real experience of someone applying that way.. but as ive said the theory seems applicable and logical, moreover AHPRA will not complain if overseas nurses do these way because it will benefit AHPRA as a whole by spreading the works of evaluation to various offices instead of just Victoria, and Victoria staff will be happy too bcoz of lesser workload.. see the rationale, it seems correct, UNLESS we will be corrected by somebody divinely more knowledgable than us or if a clear policy will be issued by AHPRA..
just to give you my personal experience prior the AHPRA scheme, back then, it will take 2-3 months for Victoria nsg board to evaluate application, Queensland took 4-6 months.. i filed in Northern Territory, lo and behold, one day after they received my documents, they emailed me on what are the lacking documents (cert. of good standing, IELTS from IDP), of course those documents were on their way too.. the thing is, imagine how quick they checked my documents, men, one day i already knew my initial status.. after 7 days, the pending documents arrived, and immediately i got updates of my latest status of my application.. and in less than a month, everything was done....

sorry girl, i am not shocked that earlier clinical placements are full already, that is already the normal situation which started late last year..
"......Is it really how it works?...." .....this is the first time ive heard it, BUT there is nothing unusual about it, it is logical that they will give it to someone who has reservation... the fee? the only thing that you should clarify is whether that reservation fee will form part of your tuition fee, meaning if your TF is $10,000 then if you pay $1000 reservation, therefore your TF balance should then only be $9000... but if that $1000 will not be deducted from your TF, then girl, whew, thatz expensive... i wont do that, i would rather use that $1000 (P40,000) for other purposes like nursing trainings here in the phils... peace..
omg! i just hope the "theory" is not true so i will not wait for 6 months. pls tell me why are we discussing this theory when i already submitted mine? ahihi! i will really barrage ahpra victoria with phone calls next week (as if!) and hope there will be no flood of blood from all the epistaxis i'll get from conversing with the au eng language. hello i passed ielts already. i can do this! haha! mate!

The $1,000 AU "reservation" fee is paid on top of the 10,000 AU. They offered the same thing to me.
I will reiterate it again, private companies should not be allowed to give this type of nursing education....this sort of thing is outrageous and should be given to consumer affairs, do you have anything in writing.....this also makes me question the quality of the nurse education.
All bridging, courses should be attended to at a university,....I still do not know what the NBv was thinking it puts our profession down the plug level.

hello, just shoot your questions, either we will directly answer them or refer you to a page or refer you to a website......
ya knw what, even me i havent seen the face of that cert. of good standing, hehehe, but i guess glio saw its face already.... anyway, said document is a standard and existing document of PRC, im in davao, they know that, as manila and cebu know it too.. its a standard doc as ive said.. the document is basically certifies you that you are a phil. RN, and in good standing which means you do not have any cases or on-going investigations, and your license is not cancelled or suspended..., so thats the spirit of the document.... board rating is of course different, as we all know, the board rating document is something you should be proud of or be ashamed of, depending on your scores...hahahahahaha...
only you can answer that one... peace..
