New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

Hi everyone! i'm a new member here.

I need help..

I'm a registered nurse here in the philippines,no working experience.just trainings..

I also passed ielts but it will expire on july next year.

I didn't know about the bridging program before..

Regarding aphra, may i know the list of requirements to be assessed? how many copies do I need to send?

Which do you think is better, sending the requirements directly to aphra or sending those to my relatives in australia and ask them to send those to aphra personally?

thank you so much.. :)

Hi Ayanami, for the List of Requirements it is all indiciated in the AGOS-04 Form which you can download at the AHPRA website under Forms (International Nurses). One copy only (certified true copy unless it specifically states you need to submit the original). Take note that some documents are supposed to be sent directly to AHPRA by an agency/provider like your TOR, PRC, IELTS. Just a few pages back we reiterated the basic requirements. I strongly suggest that you go over this thread patiently (page 1 and the next few pages are very vital to read), the rest of the pages will also really really be of big help to you and I can guarantee that.

Most of us sent it directly to AHPRA. As long as you make use of a good courier service then its all safe. I used DHL.

Goodluck :)

Hello everyone!

Do you have any feedback about William Light Institute in Adelaide, South Australia? How's their IRON Program? Where do they conduct their clinical placement? They are affiliated with University of Ballarat in Victoria.

UniSA is costly and needs 2 years experience (I have one year) and Flinders University is longer and more expensive.

Thank you.

Hi official02! I did my bridging at UB-WLI in Adelaide, SA. The bridging was good. I had my clinical placement at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. It is a huge public hospital in the suburb of Woodville. Other hospitals where you might be having your clinical placement are Modbury Hospital, Flinders Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital and Gawler Health. Yes, WLI is under UB in Victoria. Any more queries, feel free to send me a PM. :D

hello! i'm doing the bridging in nsw this 2011. please help us find our way to success and happiness in australia! thank you in advance for your serious replies. :D

good luck and god bless.. :)

Ramsay health care advertising graduate positions starting in July and a BIG NO to glio nursing in Australia, for reasons that I cannot explain here.

I just emailed my inquiries to all the BP providers in victoria. Some gave me a positive response. I just told them up front that I'm still in the process of applying for registration with ahpra.

Of course Aus BP costs more than 3x as much as nz bp. This is when you consider the exchange rate and the tuition fee together with your living allowance. ;)

ah...ok thanks :)

anybody planning to go to WA? I'm wondering why noone is taking the bridging program there?

hi, just to clarify, is this a BP program that you enrolled in? You're done with the whole AHPRA process?

hi, actually its not BP...i enrolled in certificate III in aged care. I opted to do this before i do BP. I kind of hope this program will buy me time in preparing my self financially and for personal reasons too:crying2: . I can only do my studies in QLD since my sister is there. Im saving up so I can do my BP in NSW in the future. I hope you can help me with my predicament. thanks a lot! :yeah:

Hello Chimaira, although I cannot answer you with regards to your course but just to be sure have you checked it with the AHPRA website atleast if that course will lead you to a registration as a Nurse in Australia? Try to check first :)

Anyway, I can help shed some light with your "show money" concerns. DIAC refers to it as 'Proof of Financial Resources' and not 'show money'. For that, you can show your bank accounts (savings, current, time deposits), Yes the Bank Loan Certificate is also one (since they will not acknowledge your properties like land titles but if it is used as a collateral for the bank so your Credit Line in that bank is available anytime then you will have access to funds which is a financial resource for you), Credit Cards Statement showing your available Credit Limit is another financial resource, Affidavit of Support from your sister or if in Australia a 'Statutory Declaration' made by your sister to support your cost of living expenses but you will have to attach her Statement of Employment/Income Tax Records/Bank Statements as well to show her capacity to support you. Yes being enrolled and having paid the tuition will also help alot.

Goodluck to you :)

hi miks103, thanks a lot for the info. i really appreciate it!!! no im not doing a BP. Im enrolling in a Certificate program, so to buy me time in preparing my self financially before doing a BP. NSW will surely cost a lot. Im still preparing for that. Your a big help! thanks again!:D:yeah:
