New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi Good Day!

been reading this forum for quiet awhile but just registered recently. I had a little chitchat with my aunt on internet and she is in OZ now, She just received her eligibility from AHPRA to take bridging course there in OZ. I was confused when she said that AHPRA didn't require IELTS as one of her requirements, I was thinking because she was an OZ PR, but it makes m more confused when she said that her friend's niece who is here in Philippines did not submit IELTS but just submitted a letter from her school (secondary and tertiary) indicating that everything was taught in English. I think i'll just send an e-mail to AHPRA asking them about this and any insights will be much appreciated...

hi guys, i hope you won't mind me asking (someone answered this a few pages back already), i tried to back read (although 217 pages meant a whole lot of backreading!) but couldn't find the answers anymore. I hope you could enlighten me.

these are questions based on the AGOS-04 form

1. #11 What are the details of your qualifications and examinations/assessments?

Title of qualification

Name of institution

Country

Completion Date

Length of Program

2. #12 What is your health practitioner registration history?

state/territory/country

category of registration

profession

period of registration

3. #16 Have you completed:

*secondary education taught and assessed in English to the requisite level for entry into a nursing or midwifery program

*a nursing or midwifery program taught and assessed in English

If yes (must attach evidence)

If no (arrange for evidence of successful completion of a board approved english language test to be provided directly to the board by the testing authority

(NOTE: for me, my answer would be yes because all lessons were taught in English, but I don't know what evidence to show them, for NO though, I know it would be the IELTS exam results.. but I feel I should answer yes as the honest question.. but please do help. finished high school and college here in the Philippines)

hmmm, i know i have more questions.. will add on my next post hehe =) thanks in advance..

additional questions:

4. Agent authorization

I consent to this application being discussed with

Third party

Not applicable (i suppose this is the answer? just making sure)

5. Also, I could not find anywhere saying the TOR should come from the School?

I have a TOR but it says in the bottom, for BOARD EXAM PURPOSES? Would that do? requesting another TOR from my school would mean another expense, and it takes 1 week to request a TOR.

can someone help me to see where it says the TOR Should come from the school and not together with my other documents?

Thank you guys so much!

another curious questions guys.. if i took the NLE in Cebu, does that mean I can only go to PRC Cebu to request my good moral standing to be sent to AHPRA? or any PRC office would suffice? like PRC Manila/Iloilo?

thanks a million again!

Guys, I would like to ask, who are able to witness a statutory declaration? Thanks..

another question, lol, i am full of questions already, i can't even keep track anymore. anyway, i'm feeling productive now, hence all these questions!

anyway, what is the statutory declaration for? I couldn't find that as a requirement from the AGOS form. am I missing something here?

Anybody here who can enlighten me please? Here's my problem...

I submitted my documents through an agency here in the Phils. The agency said they have submitted them last Sept 17, 2010. Although in my credit card bill, AHPRA appeared, I have not received any email from them telling me they have received my documents.

My dilemma is that in my application form, the agency requested to write the agency's email add..whenever i follow up the agency, they said there's no update yet..I tried inquiring to AHPRA several times but they have the same reply.."Thank you for your email. Your enquiry has been escalated to a registration specialist who will advise you via email accordingly."

I've been waiting for my eligibility for 6mos now and am not sure if that's too long or do I need to wait or do I need to worry?

Thanks for the help!

Why don't you call instead of sending them an email? If you call they would only ask you your name and date of birth then can see already if they did receive your documents. But if you said that AHPRA already billed you in your credit card then its probably already being assessed now. AHPRA won't email you also because you authorised an agent, unless you will cancel that authorisation, if you are opting for that you can ask AHPRA as well when you call.

Most of us here did it directly...we didn't employ the services of an agency.
