Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
@cioman94
thanks for your lengthy response. wow! yeah im still confused of what to do, if whether to change visa or not so i might just have to go to DIAC/Immigration Office tomorrow to ask and get a clear answer on this problem. I think the 575 option would be best because it's clearly for the BP since the course is a non-award program. But then again it all depends on the Immigration. I just hope I dont need to repeat the whole process of obtaining a visa since i just had the 572 granted 4 months ago. I just hope everything will be alright. Im still waiting for AHPRA's response regarding my application. I've been ringing them but they always put me on hold.
Need more prayers.. Thanks again and Godbless..
shy,
converting from one visa to another visa esp from a higher type to a lower type is easy, as compared to example me, with no visa yet and will apply for the first time.. nway, you would know that when you refer your case to DIAC..
good luck.. but dont worry, your visa situation is a lot better really..
Thanks. I am about to mail my application to AHPRA. have you mailed yours? What did you put as your third party / nominated party on section I on no. 29? Anyone please. thanks..hi salmonella, im about to mail my application form tom or on friday, i hope they find everything well so that we dont have to resend something again :)
Hi there!:) like some of you guys here, ahpra returned my documents and i'm now planning to resend it together with the new application form. just wanted to clarify several things:
1. no need to go to prc and have another "certificate of good standing" sent to ahpra since NBV already forwarded it to them?
2. does the same thing apply for the ielts results if i had it forwarded before to NBV?
3. what was your answer in #18 (Do you commit to only practise the profession if you have appropriate professional indemnity insurance arrangements in place?)
thanks thanks in advance!:)
@cioman94
i just went to the DIAC office. They said i need to change visa. The best option and the only option they gave me is to apply for the visa 575 (non-award visa) because the BP is a non-award course. I need to present same documents such as COE, show money, etc. But then I dont need to do the medicals again because the medical exam i did in the Phils is valid for 12 months. Now im so stressed with the AHPRA process and the visa processing too. i just hope everything will fall into place.
Thanks Cioman:) I guess i was just too excited to go to Australia that I dont want any further delay with the application process. Im still waiting for my letter of eligibility from AHPRA. Did you repeat all your vaccination? I hope you dont mind, how much did you spend anyway:)?
i understand your excitement because that's also what ive done, im now monitoring my hx and lab results prior the actual med check up of oz embassy.. nagpa Xray na me, and hepaB and HepaC check up.. im hypertensive so im already taking my HPN meds.. we are doing the right thing..
You should have a shot on these:
MMR and INFLUENZA @ P3000
DPT (Adacel) @ P1800
.
can ADACEL (DPT) be purchased over the counter on drugstores?

it depends on the drugstore.. small time, yes.. metro, mercury, i doubt.. nonetheles i dont expect you to inject it by yourself or anyone els, meaning you will have a doctor do it.. for that reason you still have to visit a doctor, therefore you get a prescription for that med, then go back to the doctor.. yoiu will be charged only with one professional doctor's fee, not 2x..
thank so much cioman94 and liaa! btw, did you send a copy of your highschool diploma together with your other documents? if not, i'm guessing you answered "no" in question 17: "did you undertake and complete your secondary education to the requisite level required for entry into a nursing or midwifery program, taught and assessed in english?"
again, many thanks and good luck to us!:)

shy,
you have a technical immigration law question, i suggest you need a professional advice on this and not just from us..
nonetheless, here's what i presumed and opined:
- you are presently or supposedly enrolled in a certain educational/vocational program (other than BP) because 572 was granted to you.. i know you were accepted in a certain vocational/training school as a prerequisite of 572 visa..
- you can have your BP during your "school vacation or school break", the problem is i doubt your school break would be as long as 3 months..
- if your school class will start January 2011, and you are already in Oz now, then you can have BP but should end prior January 2011.. and come January 2011 you must go to the class of that vocational school otherwise that will be a violation of your 572 visa..
- if you will apply for conversion to 575, then you can only apply once you have a slot or offer from BP school, you cannot do it now.. and if you will apply for it, you will be granted a shortened duration not the original 2 years you have now, and perhaps they may advised you to get 576 instead..
that's how tricky your situation is, thats why for the same reason i suggest you need professional advice..
but if you really dont care about part time work, then i suggest you wait for a slot or offer from BP school then at that point apply for conversion to 576 visa which would be processed quickly..
did you see the light
good luck and pray for guidance.,.,:)
