Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hello everyone! I am new here although I have been following this thread for quite some time. I would say that this forum has been very informative and very helpful. Just like everyone I am also interested to go to Australia through a Bridging Program. I have in fact applied with NBV and sent all the required documents on the first week of May 2010. Thus, I am on a waiting mode too. I understand that with the National Registration, I guess I will have to wait longer. I am quite anxious because I am not sure if I still have lacking documents. I emailed AHPRA inquiring about the status of my application a week ago but there is no reply yet. Bdw, I also miss the posts of JavRn, Ryan and Chabeli. I wonder where they are now. I would love to hear those who have received approval already from AHPRA.
hehehe, they (the 3 mentioned) are busy working... i will also stop posting so that i will be missed (as if I will be missed, hehe)..
good luck to your application, and expect really for some delays as you already understand the situation.. peace..
my ALT is high, so as my BP.. gotta recuperate prior health checkup..
hi mikyong and salmonella!
just like you guys,i sent my application to nbv before the national registration and according to their records, my papers (except my ielts results, which i havent sent yet) reached them june 7. i sent them an email asking them whatever happened to my application. the thing is, this afternoon, i got a letter from ahpra telling me that they are returning my papers so that i can apply all over again because nbv didnt finish assessing my papers. so, they sent me the new application form plus i would have to submit all the documents all over again (and yes, plus the cv, which wasnt required before). the only good news i got was they would waive the new registration fees because they already charged 145 aud to my credit card sometime in june. i dont know though if this is what happens to all pending applications, just thought of sharing these things. good luck everyone :)

whaatt??? send the docs again? sending those docs are not cheap...I sent my applications to NSW last march but was able to complete it just this july, they havnt billed me yet their fees, so that would mean....aaarrghhh
hi bekimon! yup, you heard (or perhaps, read) it right. their explanation was that nbv didnt finish assessing my papers so there, i should apply again. i just dont know if that was the case because they do not have my ielts yet. but i clearly remember asking nbv before i sent my documents if its still ok to do so considering that national registration will commence soon. i even asked them what if i lack certain documents and whoever replied told me that i will be given 6 months to comply with all the requirements. oh well, guess i cant do anything but comply...
i can't seem to download the PDF of the standard format of Curriculum Vitae on the website. it was posted a while back that there was a mistake and that the CV will just be signed by us. I don't know if i should still have my CV signed by my employer or not. what do you think guys?
-according to some posts I've read in this forum the applicant is required to sign in the CV...not the employer.

ooohhhhhhh.. thats a not-so good news, liaa... thanks anyway for informing us... at least now we know what to expect when worst comes to worst. err.... did you mean all the documents? like, did they ask you to secure another copy of good standing from prc??? ( I assume youre from phil too? ) or TRF of IELTS perhaps? another set of certified true copies of documents? or could we reuse them and just send them back along with the new requirements? ... oh my, that is not an easy money to burn. plus the courier fees.. awts... masakit sa bulsa.
hmmn I have asked them before too if it's just fine to send my application before july, and i vividly remember that the one whom I talked with said yes.

... haha ( im sleepy and yet feeling down) anyway we just have to deal with whatever they ask us to do.... I am anticipating the same thing will happen to my application, so i need to prepare now... Good luck to all.. will keep u guys updated once i hear anything from AHPRA.

-yup, all the documents i sent.
-i do not know about the good standing from PRC, AHPRA's letter said "if you have already organized a certificate of good standing to be sent to the board please refer to page 4 of the new application form regarding further requirements", when i checked that page, i didnt see anything new, im confused!
-i think we could use the old documents and resend them again together with the new ones.
-i know that will be a lot of money again! its really sad but we cant do anything about it. lets stay positive! :)

I think we should wait for their advice, but it doesnt hurt if we just prepare the CV as early as now... hayyz this would mean a delay though..
