New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

Oh no!I just received the same mail liaa just now.waaahhh! Mikyong at least you are now forwarned...No choice but to comply...Lets still be optimistic guys it's never too late!

Can we exchange notes? What are the additional requirements aside from the CV. I just want to be sure...Should we go to PRC and ask them again to mail Cert of Good Standing. I applied that for NBV though...

i think it's just the CV that wasnt included in the list of requirements before.

Did u notice the clause which says that if we have requested for a certificate of good standing before then we should refer to page 4 of the new app form, i dont know if they have a new format for the certificate, i think we have to find out soon.

i actually plan on calling ahpra regarding that certificate, maybe they still have our certificates and i do not know if that will do, just in case, they would still consider that then that will be good news for us.

when do you plan on sending your documents again? :)

Got my letter form nbv... whew.. imagine, they mailed it may 20, and just got it this july... anybody here applying for january 2011? whats the best provider, im still on the searching process....

ei hi guys, i received the same letter this morning too.. i have the same concern.. waaa... we need to clarify about the good standing and the TRF (in my case) to AHPRA.. ill try dialling their number today.

liaa, the sooner we can submit the requirements, the better.. hehe if I can contact AHPRA and have an answer to our queries, ill prolly be sending mine by next week or the week after. hayz. pls keep me informed about this matter.. ill inform you right away if i have an answer already. thanks guys. now i need to browse and restudy the new application form..

good luck guys gals..

hello everyone, my friend and i just visited AHPRA a while ago. there were many who inquired about the new process. the staff on AHPRA informed the applicants that one should lodge an application if all requirements are already met such as the IELTS (all 7 band). or else the 450aud fee (115+115+220) will just be a waste.

She said the TRF results should go first on the AHPRA office before you lodge the application forms. hmmm.. new rules..

Is your application fee (AHPRA) waived too?

I'm now anticipating the return of my documents as well.. :crying2: NBV received mine June 15 so I'm quite sure my docs will be sent back as well...

Mikyong how are you holding up?

hey, jakey, don't give up, bro..take it one entry on the CV at a time, Im sure you will be able to do it..you've come this far already...hang on, bro.

Drednag, your inbox is full, I can't reply to your PM.

hey sweet_tooth! it's disappointing but Im keeping the positive vibes. ;) lets take this setback cooler than cool. lol

so you havent received yours? uhmm i cant tell if your application will have the same fate as ours, but it is more likely to happen. just prepare the new forms and the other requirements while waiting for their mail. :)

Now I'm positive that my docs are on their way back.. You said they received yours June 18? They received mine 3 days earlier. It's just because our postman comes once a week (I think) only so mine's sure to be delayed..

Anyone out there who also applied late like us and was advised by AHPRA to re-apply again?
