Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
thanks again :), another question, what address for AHPRA NSW will I use?, the postal address or their office address?anyone here NSW bound like me?
i dont know the specific answer to your question.. just want to share to you this stuff:
--- if you will send to a PO BOX address, you should send your mail via Phil. Post Office (not private courier) because only "post office sent mails" will be placed inside a po box address.. this is an agreement among post office in the whole universe..
-- if you send mail via private courier, send it to an office address (basta not in a po box address)..
-- now, what is "locked box", sorry i dont know.. we dont have that in phils.. aus, yes they as you notice.
just repost your query so that it will be given specific answer..
i dont know if you had already sent your application... BSN-SP.. hopefully your nsg course was for a period of 3 or 4 years (not 2 1/2 years)... "SP" , I assume you are a "second courser"... what does your DIPLOMA and TOR looks like?? does the "SP/special program" written there?? if not, better utilize "BSN" to avoid the need to further explain what the heck is SP (e.g. student permit, discount sa bus, senior citizens program,).... just consider yourself as BSN graduate like others (for Aus. application purposes).... hope you read between the line and got what i really wanna say for the benefit of other SP like me, and future SP applicants... i think you know what i mean... peace... good luck on your application...
cioman ... funny hahahaha .. i got worried for a bit and checked my TOR and diploma and thank god it says BSN without the SP ..
.. but i had the program for 2 and a half years only .. hmmm, i assume ur an SPN too (hopefully not a senior citizen haha), so how did you go about yours? coz i know that SPN is usually 2 to 3 years only ... i havent sent my application yet ... and fyi if i was to include the word SP, im not like gonna write it as such without writing the whole SPECIAL PROGRAM ... peace

yap im SP (of course not sr. citz.. ) ....wild guess, ur frm Brokenshire? nah.. kindly double check and find someone like you (a 2 1/2 course) who has already been approved for BP.. at least you would know if there were problems or not about such 2 1/2.. the thing is in Australia, they define BSN as a 3 year course, thus you may require some explaining about such 2 1/2, i hope not, thatz why i suggest you try to find a buddy 2 1/2 courser who were given approval... just a thing for you to prepare, but not to worry..

Hi nymph! I'm also a second courser ( I prefer this word rather than SP ). I did not write SP when I applied. The certification (1st page of my TOR) indicates that I am a graduate of a 4-year course although I studied for 2 1/2 yrs. As far as I remember, I include the prospectus and course description when I submitted the docs. And if you're from Brokenshire, don't worry. They know the documents needed.
Good luck! :)
hi jesse gurl .. yehey ... thanks .. somehow im a bit relieved now knowing that there's someone out there like me who got the visa without the need of explanation etc .. hehehe
yes my TOR includes that on the first 2 pages .. :)
cioman, nope im not from brokenshire .. i dont know if u meant the one in UK though or the one in Davao .. but im from neither one of them .. thanks anyways
Guys, I've been thinking about something regarding BPs. Are there any unis or entities that offer scholarship for the BP? I read something about the commonwealth fund but I'm not sure if that's applicable to overseas applicants. I have already planned everything and my parents gave me the go signal to proceed with my application once I'm done with IELTS but the thing is I want to help them with the expenses by getting a scholarship if there's such a thing for BP students.
Any thoughts on this? Any input will be highly appreciated. Thank you guys! :)
hi everyone...a newbie here..just read all your posts..and i really want to thank all of you...:) anyway, i just got my ielts result and fortunately i got 7 above in all 4 sections..(thank god!)i already had my 6mos. volunteer duty last year..
i would like to ask if its okay to start processing my papers for national registration?maybe, i can send my papers by the end of this month...by the way, i have some questions and i hope u can answer my questions.. i would really appreciate ur answers..so, here it goes...
1. how much is the total money needed for registration? is this right? ( 115 aud for general registration + another 115 for annual fee for gen. reg. + 220 for overseas assessment charge= 450 aud).....
i have the same concern regarding the total fees to be paid. but looking at the application form, there is no entry for overseas assessment fee. are we going to pay 230 aud first, then we'll be requested to pay the overseas assessment charge after??? pls help, i'm confused:confused:

sorry, as far as i know, no scholarship for BP except for that commonwealth fund which is available only to permanent resident... in new zealand, before, an employer would pay (as a loan) for the BP tuition fee, i dont know now..
you may discuss further the commonwealth fund with ryan09.... he is a scholar of that fund... he is a permanent resident.. sorry..but you'll get over it, with prayers..
