Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Newmacany news at your end?
lurking mode. :)
i'm currently busy with another transaction:D as something came up. but, hey, i'm still considering taking the Aus BP -i'm just not sure when as of the moment. I'd probably email WLI today to ask for the extension of my offer at least until the end of July, if possible. If not, there's always the next intake. :)
how are you doin, dumb?:)
Yeah! Thanks to Shynern07!Another doubt is that we should have our CV translated and certified by an authority OR we can translate it ourselves?
I dunno in Phils...do u guys have to translate ur docs in certified copies or ,u guys, have ur docs alreday in English?
Thanks for taking ur time to reply!!!
In the Philippines, we use English in our formal and business documents, so we dont have that problem...
You know how to speak and write English, hence, prepare your CV in English.
Now, with regards to your other documents/certifications which I guess are in Portuguese, you should not just translate it by yourself, instead have it done by an accredited translator.. pls check/inquire with the Australian Embassy in your country for said translators..
good luck to you..
NurseNathalie, you should write your CV in English. It's also proof that you can fully understand their language, aside from passing the IELTS. It doesn't matter what your mother tongue is, I believe. What matters is that before you even go there you can fully understand and communicate with them.
Don't submit a non-english one with a translated one. But if you need help, don't be afraid to ask for it to write CVs, it's fairly common to do so. :)
Most documents here are already in English. It is very rare to find a document in our language, which I believe is a loss for us. Some that use Filipino are already translated in the same document.
I am currently applying for mercy health:) when i called the person in charge she told me that they do not require experience but it gives you an edge over the other applicants. Its worth a shot though
that's good to know :) i'll try my luck at Mercy then. thank you and good luck on your BP! :)
guys, regarding my problem about having reciprocity for the eligibility to take the BP in between states, AHPRA said No, not possible. Okay....so, i better comply with the documents I lack for NSW.
anyone here who tried sending their verification of registration and certificate of good standing of their US license to Aus? how'd you go about it guys?, because I'm not seeing a link in the Vermont board of nursing for sending these docs internationally, just for within the US.
and if I send these docs where will I address it? NMB NSW or to AHPRA?

http://www.vtprofessionals.org/opr1/nurses/ on this page you will see, Professional Information, under it is Verification..... that's it, click it open... that's the form... print and filled it up, together with bank draft payment, mail to the vermont nursing board.. then the vermont nursing board will send it directly to australia..
http://vtprofessionals.org/ this is also another page where you can get the form..."Request a Verification of License"...
the instructions are in these sites.. just read and follow..
vermont nsg board must send it directly to AHPRA NSW... check the address at the AHPRA website..
thanks for the update and good luck to your application..
