Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
help!help!help!
i'm completely lost!
i searched the ahpra website but found nothing "solid" about how to apply as an os nurse....
ok! it's the same for english as i've read; the fees and etc....but the "how to" i couldn't find it anywhere in their site.
i tried the queensland nursing council but they re-directed me to ahpra...
i know that in this thread most peolpe are going to vic but if there's anyone who can help me, i'd appreciate that so much!
nursenathalie,
i think it should be the same process as how you did to the state you applied before. you have to fill up the application form and submit it to the national board.
here is the link for the forms: [color=mediumturquoise]http://www.ahpra.gov.au/health-professions/nursing-and-midwifery/forms.aspx
Wa was the last to join Australia bec it was reluctant and doesn't want to do so. It just joined Australia bec it was pressured. Residents from other sates who settled here were the ones who pressured wa and voted to do so.
Maybe WA should become its own country, sorta like Canada and the US of A.
Good call! Hope they stick to their guns then.
It's because after the bridging program, it is highly likely that you would get a job in Australia, thus making it easy for you to convert your visa into a different business visa subclass. Thoughtful government right? :)
Oh, okay! so that's it. Because when I checked the website they do give student visas to non-award programs. So i was wondering why its easier to get a business visa subclass. Thank you so much for shedding light on this matter. I'm still trying to find a school for this year's intake.
btw, my aunt suggested the following schools near their place:
Mercy health
Epworth Freemasons
would anyone know if they require experience?
Thanks!
not yet.i've sent out applications to etea, alpine and ub-wli. :)
when did you send them? i heard there's deadline for ub-wli 2010 intake? i just got my letter from NBV that's why ill start sending applications now. Can I ask what are the requirements you sent? I have to wait 10 days for my NBI clearance because apparently my name is common.
Thanks!

This is not a 'give in' this is the english way of parliament people sit and talk about things then vote, then the law is given a date to take affect.
WA has since Australian white history began, been the last state to join anything national, including our constitution for Federalism.
The Western Australian parliment did not sit (get together) in parliment in time to pass the legislation (law) in Western Australia. So therefore until October the Nurses Board of Western Australia is still operating and a nurse that wishes to work in Western Australia must be registered with that board not the new National Board,
btw the poster who said it was false - the Nurses Board of Victoria is still operating......it is not...Victorian nurses pra are now registered with the National Midwives and Nurses Board, not the NBV nor the NMBWA.
