Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
@ Solace,
Also the certificate of good standing or verification of registration status what ever the name you call it should have both the information and should come directly from the registering authority. You can get it from them in a sealed envelope and post it on their behalf as in many countries, the nurses boards don't have a budget to send these documents overseas.
good luck.
@nasruasim, thank you for your reply. That's what I did with the cert of good standing. I sealed it in a PRC envelope and sent it to NBV thru DHL with PRC as the sender on the waybill. I'll give them a call and verify if they really didn't receive it. Regarding the initials, so it will be just like this?
mistake correct ABC
Thank you for your help :)

yes, that would be correct. you can put the initials below or above even depending on the space available. If you are asked to enter some new details, there is nothing to cut off, just enter the details and put your initials beside it. I usually put a line beneath my initials, just like a signature. Also you have to cut off the date and enter the new date and put your initials there as well.
I know someone from davao dee j. But she's not in this thread. I'm in for the October intake and i'm so anxious coz it seems nobody's interested in vchn here.Btw, where are you staying when you get there?
hi jesse gurl! im in for vchn's july intake. i availed of the accomodation and assistance package they offered. i don't know anybody there so i was hoping to meet someone here in the forum who'll be taking the bp as well. lots of luck for me and for you!

HiBeen awhile since I last posted. Just had our orientation today in LaTrobe Bendigo. Basically, t'was just a tour around the city and what not... nothing impt has been discussed as of yet. I believe we are about 26 in the class and 9 of which are Filipinos. Just sad about the food here... everything is so freakin' expensive. Prices of clothes are okay, just fair but the food!!!
And I kinda wonder how Aussies get to be very big when they eat so little. Hehe...
Anyway, it's really freezing over here. Will try to update as soon as class begins.
Goodluck guys! I guess almost everyone has their NBV approval already.
@Chocokat, countmein, uh_huh, therooftop Tc guys... I'm just a ym away if you guys need anything.
hi haoyin,

I guess i'll ring them as soon as my visa is granted. please do update me when you get there... please?
Tnx much!

Hi solace,
I also got mine back to add certain details and I had to put my initials as well. It is the practice over here in Australia that if you change anything on a document, you cross it with a single line and enter the changes and then put your initials beside the changes. Just like the way we do on nursing notes.....
