Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
I might as well consider arntp for my options since it became shorter: 4.5 mos + 2 weeks christmas break and it begins this oct 8. But student accomodation in Adelaide is a lot more expensive compared with deakin (250-300+75 bills+parking fee). Omg. It will easily reach 400/week). Don't know too if they have human services scholarship. Need to think about it.
I am just wondering from where you got these quotes. I am renting a 3 bedroom house in Adelaide for 275/week. And before I used to live in shared accommodation for which I had to pay 80/ week plus bills (which varied). but not so high.
You may also consider NBV BP offered by William Liaght Institute in Adelaide which is the University of Ballarath's program.
Hope this helps a bit.
cheers
Should I get accepted in unisa I might as well rent a house and furnish it and travel instead coz it's a lot cheaper. Im already making my research on student accommodations (studio unit, fully furnished) in the city and they cost more compared with those in burwood. I'll try my luck there bec it starts by oct 8.
I received a mail from nbv today asking me to resend my diploma and it should be in a single page only. Since my diploma is big, I wonder where in Perth can I find a photocopy machine with 'reduce' function. Weird considering nmbwa accepted my diploma in 2 A4 paper put together each certified.
For those who have finished their BP's and found jobs (and are now workin'),
how'd you guys satisfy the "referee/s" requirement when applying for a job? Did you provide the names of the BP Clinical Instructors? Is that even allowed? I mean, they would only know us for a very short span of time (2-3months)... just wonderin.
Hey, Newmac, congratulations for getting a seat at ETEA, bro! Good for you and Reiken, you'd be classmates!!!
Hey, does ETEA give a Certificate of Enrollment, for visa purposes? I've tried emailing them to ask for it, I still haven't got a reply...has anybody here gotten one?
Best of luck everyone!

hi! etea will send you Letter of Offer that you will attach to your visa application. it was stated in the letter that you are enrolled in the Initial Registration Course for Div 1 (IRCON), commencement date, duration, location & course fee.
good luck!

hello! your referees will be your BP CIs and your staff nurse buddy during your clinical placement. it is better if he/she is the nurse unit manager of your ward. employer will really call them and ask your performance during the placement...so be good and do your best during your clinical! by the way, ask permission first before writing their names as your referees. good luck!
Hey, for those ETEA bound... for our visa application, we dont need to present a Certificate of Enrollment as the IRCON at ETEA is not CRICOS registered, according to them. We just need to present the Letter of Offer and the Receipt evidencing payment of the Acceptance Deposit....yey! Now I can finally submit my application for 456 visa.. wish me luck, guys!!!
