Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Is it true that you need to take the Part B of the exam in Australia mismo and then undergo a training for 3 months?
Part B and the Clinical Module for CAS should be done in Australia. QNC will assign which hospital or institution you will have your clinical exam/practice. I don't know anything about the 3 months training you are talking about though. All I know is, if you fail Part B, you will be asked to complete the clinical practice for 4 weeks.
what do they recommend to use to study for the exam? Is there a special reviewer for the Australian exam?
The content of the exam can be found on page 27 of this thread. As I've said, there are tons of information over the net and you can actually download and review these things coming from reputable websites. Check queensland nursing council website, queensland health and australian nursing and midwifery council (ANMC).
It will not gonna expire if you will work for it. The short stay visa will be granted in 3 days as long as you've completed the medicals and other requirements. The most difficult part would be the medicals because you have to provide information on your immunization, etc since you will be going to australia and do clinicals. Good luck
kit25, thank you, thats a new info for me, as i didnt know its as fast as that.. hopefully the applicant will pass the Part B Clinical, otherwise he would take the 4 week Clinical program which would also mean he has to convert his short stay visa to student visa in order to be allowed to undertake the said Clinical program..
:sniff: arrrggghhh...ive becoming more impatient these days with all the hurdles we need to overcome. Its very hard and honestly, im tired of taking all these exams. It can be very tiring at times. Hope we can all make it out there and i just really hope that all these things will be settled out soon.
lol sorry for being emo.
di do, also imagine most local agencies require 2 years experience, imagine if you still have zerol.. thats depressing, but but but, must go through the process,, i think all we have to do is to "capsulize" the time..
just my opinion..
hope this is of help to you, my friend has just completed the papers with Sawsee International, they were very good to her, there is a fee but she has to pay most after visa and the bridging course has been lent to her, she showed me all the paperwork, and they give the name of the company they deal with Clinica in Victoria, the fees are 250,000Php plus the briging course 26.6 hours paid work with overtime and 11.9 hours study a one year course if you have IELTS 7+ and you can apply if you have IELTS 5.5, but the program co-ordinator has said they can help with the IELTS side to make the course cheaper and you wont have to study for IELTS in Australia, I have just raided my deposit and I am applying as well,
Highly recomended people so nice when we went there:nurse:

Oh i see. Thanks for the information kit25 :) I'm beginning to look at other countries now :)

The most difficult part in the challege pathway is the Part A. Since this will determine if you will do a 1 day Part B or do clinicals for 4 weeks in QLD. You don't have to convert your short stay visa to student because short stay visa is for the purpose of the bridging program and is valid for 3 months stay in Australia. Within this 3 months, you have to convert your visa to work (457 visa) through your employer. Upon lodging the application, you will be given a bridging visa so you don't have to go back to the Philippines while your application is being evaluated.
The Part B in the Challege Pathway would be the easiest. According to the Program Manager, there is a 99.9% passing rate for part B takers. They are not there to fail you. Be optimistic. Pass part A and everything will go well.
