Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
hi aelith, yes i'm all alone at night for this endeavour..:wink2: anyways, my concern is still it: from the day of visa application at embassy (assuming all documents are complete), how long will my visa be released, i still hope it will be released less than 3 months or prior the "expiry of Part Test A" so to speak... :) as if naman, i would pass Part A Test, hehehe..
As long as your documents are complete and passed the medicals, you will receive your visa in 3 days. That fast. If they find out you have TB then you will undergo treatment for 6-12 months. Better have your medicals now and know your deficiencies. Medicals is valid for a year.
hi aelith. so you're on an agency now? my aunt said she found a website that sort of sponsors and funds your education. it's not really the agency that funds it, but rather the hospital. i dont know how true it is because i haven't taken a look at it yet as i've been quite busy. also, we always have to be careful on such things especially if they sound too good to be true.
what u said is so true. i ended up in another country, expecting a different turn of my life. but when i got up here, i guess the one up above had a different plan in mind for me. so what i had in mind didn't come as smooth as it was supposed to be... it's quite a tough one as i've been here for only 3 months but i think i've already adjusted and had come to accept the course of my life for the next year or so.... but my long term goal is to really become a nurse in Australia. i'm considering ACU, griffith uni and james cook uni but i dont know if i'll be able to afford it by 2010. haha...
if you want, you can send me your email and the likes. i dont think i can send a PM yet coz i've just posted around 5 stuffs only and i believe i need to have around 15. i've just started my research regarding on how to become a registered nurse in australia. hopefully someday, WE ALL will be.

My best guess is that is the Enrolled Nursing one. I haven't seen any hospital that sponsors Degree programs but they do accommodate Enrolled Nursing Students from TAFE. The only problem is, it is only for Permanent Residents and Citizens. But, if you can get the website from your aunt, can you also forward it to me so I can double check for you? :)
I'm not in an Agency, I have just been talking to the agency and asking things hehe. Just making sure what they really offer and how it will go. The breakdown of fees and what to expect.
As for the tuition, you will only need to pay 1 semester's fee. The rest you can pay per semester. The only problem is the show money which can actually be anybody's account as long as they will be declaring they'll be supporting your studies and would show their own bank account, pay slips, and the like.
I'll give my contact. Yea, I really hope sometime soon we will all have a get together there. Would be fun! :)

My Stand/Opinion only:
If you have zero experience, the agency can help of course because of the secured job placement and review materials for QNC. The bad part is, with all honesty, you'll be paying so much more ( more than twice what you will really pay on your own).
If you have experience, especially a year, it is better to do it on your own cause there are a lot of agencies in Australia that you can contact who will happily sponsor you. They just require at least 1 year experience, at least most of them do.
Just my
Hi Aelith, There are agencies in Australia that can sponsor? Really? I'm very excited to learn about that. I've been browing the web looking for such an opportunity but to no avail. Perhaps, you could help me..please:thankya::thankya::thankya:

HAHA :yeah:Goodluck dear! You might even qualify for a permanent visa but it will take a whole lot more time. So, the 457 visa is okay for now and apply for perm there
Keep us posted too, so that others can learn from you. :)
:sniff: arrrggghhh...ive becoming more impatient these days with all the hurdles we need to overcome. Its very hard and honestly, im tired of taking all these exams. It can be very tiring at times. Hope we can all make it out there and i just really hope that all these things will be settled out soon.
lol sorry for being emo.
guys im wondering do you know any AU based agencies that offer same services like the "consultancy" and the "centre"? :smiley_abi really wanna avail of their service coz i dont want to bother myself with all the self- reviews (esp test B) and follow-ups esp the job hunting once i complete the registration. i am thinking of availing an agency's service. Id like to try the "consultancy" however i am far away from them and based from the seminar i attended when i went home 3mos ago, the reviews, the exam (test A), visa application and the ticket everything will be settled in the Philippines. So my application with them aint push through. Im just hoping that agencies in Au will be more lenient with Overseas applicants.
Im just too busy right now and so many problems bug me. I just want to lift some burdens off my shoulder :pumpiron:
anyone knows please PM me. Big thanks!

Is it true that you need to take the Part B of the exam in Australia mismo and then undergo a training for 3 months?

It will not gonna expire if you will work for it. The short stay visa will be granted in 3 days as long as you've completed the medicals and other requirements. The most difficult part would be the medicals because you have to provide information on your immunization, etc since you will be going to australia and do clinicals. Good luck
