Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
i am yet to get a word from them... same old news, bro... nada...hehehe... just playing it cool and for the meantime in "background mode" here in the forum
... still keeping the faith... for all we know, we'll get that coveted "letter" from the Board one of these days... so hang in there, bro
we are the kings of cool...

I already submitted an application letter online with scanned Documents to Uni. of Ballarat.lol i thought i don't need to shell-out some money for postal fees but the International Admissions Officer is requiring me to submit Certified copies of my documents.BTW, i ticked BN instead of BNP. =(
Comparing it to other nursing schools across Australia,UB has the lowest tuition fee.Hopefully, I'll be only required 1 1/2 year or 2 years of Study then i think i'll be taking this pathway.
HI GUYS!!I am planning to go to Curtin Uni at Perth to take conversion program for registered nurses and hopefully i will be able to make it by July. I think it's a pretty good deal but the course is verrrryy expensive. Question, is it easy to get a work there (at Perth) while studying?? I wanted to get some extra money/income at least to help myself with the expenses while I am studying there.
Thanks and GodBless ya'll!! =)
Try sending blinq or blinQ, a forumer here, a PM. She just left for Perth last Friday. She's also attending Curtin.
HI alex88try to email University of Ballarat for the assessment of your credentials.. i can refer you to a person that you can posts your queeries but at the moment i can't PM you as i need more posts in this website.. so try general inquiry for international students in UB.. The progam i think is applicable to all foriegn RNs regardless of number of years spent in nursing school. as i have classmates from India who only have a diploma in nursing.. they spent about 2 yrs in nursing wherein to spend another year, would be a degree for them...
Thanks, heartblock! I will email the university next week. Good to hear about your classmates having been able to enroll in UoB even with just 2 years of nursing school from their home country. I will let you know when I get word from the university. God bless!:)

Hi.. i cant reply ur PM as i need more posts here...
for my pathway.. actually i dont need an approval from NBV nor a letter from them.. I applied directly to University of Ballarat.. here's a link for the application
http://student.ballarat.apply.studylink.com/apply.cfm?ccc=NN7&title=Bachelor of Nursing (Postregistration)
there is no application fee, just pass all ur credentials. The next batch for post registration would be Feb 2011 (in OZ the school yr starts January) .. take note that it takes 1 and a half year to earn your degree and registration..
