Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
@ heart-blockI already submitted an application letter online with scanned Documents to Uni. of Ballarat.lol i thought i don't need to shell-out some money for postal fees but the International Admissions Officer is requiring me to submit Certified copies of my documents.BTW, i ticked BN instead of BNP. =(
Comparing it to other nursing schools across Australia,UB has the lowest tuition fee.Hopefully, I'll be only required 1 1/2 year or 2 years of Study then i think i'll be taking this pathway.
Hi unadunad.. cnt PM u at the moment.. anyway.. try to ask them for the BNP pathway.. coz BN is too different from BNP.. it would take 3 yrs for BN and u'll have to go through all subjects that u have finished in Philippines.. BNP pathway would introduce u to nursing in Australian setting and the competency u needed as an Australian nurse.. Anyway regarding your PM.. yes.. BNP is still available in UB but i think the next intake is on January next yr.. so this would give you time to process everything u needed.. When UB approves your application they will send u immediately letter of offer.. u'll fill them up and send it back to them.. u'll pay for the tuition fee for just 1 semester.. Confirming your payment they will give you now your eCoE which you need for your visa application (visa application take about 3 months).. so as early as March or April you can have your medicals their in Philippines.. so that by the time you'll lodge for your visa application, evrything would be in place.
@heart-block.. how did you support your education there in UB? Are you allowed to work even you are on a student visa? Thanks for the reply
from my pocket.. hehehe...
anyway.. yes you can work for 20 hours a week or full time during semestral breaks.. this is allowed if your on student visa.. beneficial also for me coz my spouse is with me.. he too can work for 20 hours a week and full time during my semestral breaks.. so it helps alot for everyday expenses/bills/rents. But the thing though financial requirements for visa application is doubled with your spouse on.

I forgot to check the website thoroughly,UB has no mid-year intake. :banghead:Thanks.
@Haoyin...haha.. Queen of Cool? so who is the King of Cool? silly it might be..haha
@Heart-block.. does UB offers BP also? I really want to do the BP either in Victoria or Western Australia. CUrtin is my choice but very expensive..LOL..haha..
@Drednaq.. how was your application? any updates?
Narscathy, UB's next intake for the BP/IRON is this August but the closing date of application is on the 20th already so if you have your NBV letter, you should can apply at UB ASAP. I want to go there too but I think it would be impossible coz I sent my NBV application just last Feb. 9 only.
