Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
...hi, desperado, what national registration on july 2010?
good day everyone....
per plan, australia will have a unified accreditation and licensing system instead of the present per "region/state" system (e.g. QNC, NBV, etc.)..
so everybody should be aware of this vis-a-vis their plans of working/going to australia as a nurse..

Nobody really knows for sure what would happen after July 2010. I think the transition will be a long and tedious process as all the member states will merge into one, and hopefully, streamlined accrediting body for all healthcare professionals.
So what are the potential concerns for nurses, local and IEN?
There might be a lot of issues after that. One would be the bridging program. It might be continued or removed alltogether or it might be modified. The other might be an adoption of an NLE like most other countries when you apply for a license. There could be other things like the processing procedures, fees, etc.
Most importantly, register now and worry about that later.

Hello all! My sister passed the nursing board on November 2008, and is still waiting for her Certificate of Registration from PRC. Does that mean that she really can't do nothing but to wait for that document for her to be able to send her application to QNC? The only things that she has is here license card and her certificate of passing.

Hi there stoups2000! Yes, unfortunately your sister has to wait for her certificate of registration to be issued. It's one of the requirements of QNC. She might try to submit her other docs but just the same I don't think QNC will process her application without it. I think QNC wants to speed up their processing so now they want their applicants to have complete documents before they start to process it, like the change for the IELTS requirement. I've read here that starting July 1 all applicants who will submit their credentials must be have taken the IELTS already (correct me here if I'm wrong guys, this is just the way I understand this ) and that the IELTS must be sent by either IDP or British Council the same time that you will send your application so that more or less QNC will receive them within the same week or so. Right guys?
Hi guys...For the people sending out additional requirements to QNC. how long does it take once they receive the additional paper work? how long is the waiting period for them to reply for reassessing the application.
Hope someone has the answer..
Hi Nyk, I submitted the additional docs requested by QNC last June 5, 2009. I received the positive eligibility result on July 28, 2009. I am now concentrating on my IELTS review. I need to submit my IELTS result, by November 2009, before i can seat for CAS exam. Good luck to all of us!! :wink2:

hi sunmoonlight....if you diligently read through this thread you will end up not needing an agency :) and save a lot!! this is sort of a "do-it-yourself forum"... at least for most posters...
i believe that whatever the agency knows can be learned online as well so i'd rather earn the significant mark up :)
Welcome sunmoonlight,
the prices of these agencies seem to be increasing drastically despite the economic condition, the forum however is still the cheapest way to go since you have all 268 pages of useful information..and asking is always free..just read the forum and you will find all that you may need to go about and do it yourself and save yourself that amount they are asking yo..
@isay I was wondering what they they ask you to resubmit..thank you for answering my question...the knowledge that waiting for more than 1 month was something that caught me by surprise.. good luck on the IELTS. i know you can do and who knows we might even end up taking the CAS the same time...
hello fellow nurses! i am in the process of filling out the application for the QLD nursing council. i please need help in answering the Competence declaration particularly in letters a and b. Letter a says " i have been employed within the last 5 years.....; i have been required within the last 5 years to use my nursing knowledge and skills in my employment.....; i have completed an accredited or approved pre-registration, pre-enrollment...."
Letter b says "my practice in the last 5 years is relevant to this application"
SHOULD I TICK THE FALSE BOX SINCE I ONLY HAVE 2 MONTHS EXPERIENCE AND THAT WAS ONLY AS A VOLUNTEER?
And for Letter d, "I am competent to practice as a nurse...." SO WHICH BOXES OF TRUE OR FALSE SHOULD i TICK?
thank you in advance
