Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
good day everyone!:)
I've finished reading this thread and I must say it is full of valuable info.
I want to lodge my application to Australia but then with all the posts here I'm a bit confused:( I haven't decide which territory to pursue. I don't have post registration experience:
QNC - doesn't need experience
Victoria - which BP providers accept nurses like me (no experience) and how much?
any info that would shed a light to my confusion is very much acknowledged and appreciated.
thank you and God bless us all!:)
hi chocokat79 and nykhouston2003.. i know you applied in qld nursing council.. i just need help in answering the competence declaration particularly the questions in letters a b and d.. i have no years long experience. only 2 months volunteer. should i tick all the false boxes of letters a b and d?thank u so so much
hi there ynes76! Sorry it took me so long, I had to download the application form again coz I've forgotten how it looks like already
If I remember right, I did not answer Competence Declaration (Item 8, right) because it says there Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, or Midwife only applicants. As per QNC we are still not Registered Nurses. Correct me if I'm wrong guys. We should only answer those parts where it says All applicants and Applicants with International qualifications. That application form is not only for us International applicants but also for QLD nurses who are out of practice or for those seeking for re-entry or re-registration. So we are not supposed to answer all parts/items in that application form, only those items pertaining to us.
I hope this helps, but for those who also submitted to QNC kindly correct me if I am wong. :typing
About the IRON/agency affiliation I was talking about earlier -- sorry but it turns out that i'm only being given a favor. ryan asked the agency about it and they say they don't do sponsorships/scholarships. Sorry again guys...
@chiaren, ok, i'll wait for it... New Futures Training mainly cater to foreign nationals, that's one of the reasons why it's cheaper compared to others.
@ryan09, i'll PM you the number.
@jmusic, my husband is an australian citizen (filo by birth). i have a permanent spouse visa, entitled to work and study.
@lecna31, let's keep in touch. there's a big chance we're in the same batch. i hope i get NBV's reply soon.
@nini06, so far i only know ETEA here in Victoria. they give the BP for AU$10,500.

Nini ~ Deakin and La Trobe also accepts no experience for their BP.
lovelyrcf ~ When did you submit your amended forms to NBV? i haven't received mine either and it's been almost 60 days already compared to the original time line of 30 days. But i called them up and they said it's in process and that they have numerous applications being processed.
