Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
@ryan09, really not sure. if they give me the go signal (after i get NBV's reply) i'll tell you.
@nini06, no worries
@lecna31, do you have friends/family here in oz?
@chabeli, i forgot the date but i think it's already a month ago. that's what they told me too when i rang them. maybe yours is taking long because of the post. you're in the philippines, right?
this link would somehow summarize the cas pathway:
just disregard agency info and fees.
Hi everyone!
I'm a newbie here:nurse:.
It's just recently that I learned about the CAS. Alas, I've already submitted all the pertinent docus to an australian migration consultancy for a student visa and paid for it too...I am interested in the CAS...I plan to take it when I get there under my student visa. the problem is, if I do not attend the aged care classes, it says that i have 28 days to stay in australia and afterwards, i have to go back to the Phils.Does anybody know a way for me to be able to process a conversion of my student visa so that i wouldn't have to go back to the Phils? What are the requirements for such?

read it all again here:

tnx miztah cool.:) I've read it before and checked out the corresponding websites...my problem exactly was about the conversion of my student visa and the requirements?:wink2:
Then I guess we both have the same problem. Hey, I found this thread here: https://allnurses.com/international-nursing/australian-student-visa-305990.html
Better check them out. Do you think that we can e-mail the DIAC and ask them if we can do an on-shore conversion type of thing? Or maybe we can find someone in OZ who can sponsor us for a working visa? What do you think?:wink2:
humm...good idea..i guess i'll do a little research on that:typing..i was told by the consultancy that in order to stay there, we need to find potential employers who will sponsor and aid us in the conversion of our student visa.but the thing is, if i take the challenge test, then i would have to stop attending the aged care courses offered by the school.consequently, i will have to return to the philippines after 28 days as stated in the acceptance letter.another thing, i'm don't know how long it takes to recieve the license(if ever i pass...hopefully i do!). sheesh! it's so confusing!
anyways, i'll post if i find out anything that can help..somehow, i'm glad that i'm not the only one minding this problem..heehee!:wink2:
hey guys...been out for a while...hehe..how's everyone?.. i got my assessment letter from qnc yesterday and it says there that i just need to pass my ielts results...whew...i took the ielts last aug 8 and im expecting my results tomorrow..waaaah..that's all i need...i really really hope i got an all 7 score!!!
