Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
hi ryan, sorry for posting in the thread everybody, i can't PM yet.
anyway, i'm in Derrimut right now, it's in the western suburbs of Melbourne. what about you?
if Ramsay needs experience then i can't apply there...
i've already tried applying for PCA jobs without a certificate but nobody would hire me. i already enrolled and i'm currently doing my placement (80 hrs). hopefully the place i'm working in will hire me when i get the certificate... can you still give me the phone number though?
hi...yes ramsay do require an experience...
ok i will PM you...
btw, i used to live in springvale...but now moved to geelong...:)

thanks for the number of the agency...
i have a whole list of nursing homes and their contact numbers, maybe i can scan it and send it to you so you can choose a place close to geelong. i'll send it over the weekend 'cause i'm busy at the moment. just give me your email address.
Hi, to all those applying at NMBWA I have a question:
Is the initial registration certificate and current practicing certificate the NMBWA is requiring from the PRC the same as the certificate of good standing? Is this what I should mention when I go to PRC? How much will be the cost for this?
The initial registration certificate is like a diploma it is free just the documentary stamps is what you will be paying for. It is that piece of paper that looks like a diploma if you will. Printed on parchment paper, normally when you go to the dentist or doctors office...its that piece of paper hanging on their walls that's has the PRC written on top of it saying your a registered board passer of your occupation. Normally it is processed alphabetically in the PRC ..so for those with last names ending with with last letters of the alphabet or did their registration in the provinces ..its takes a while for PRC to do these...You pick this up in window 17 if I remember correctly ..and they give to you with the brown envelop you provided when you took your NLE
The current practicing certificate not so sure what this maybe somebody can comment on this. Most documentation from the PRC shouldn't cost you much but the problem with the initial registration is if you just passed the current board exams...they take a while to release since they process this by family name.. Hope this helps...
hi to nykhouston2003:
Thanks for the reply. I've already sent my board cert (initial registration cert) and PRC license copy (current practicing cert) to NMBWA. What I'm referring to is the verification of license (initial reg cert and current practicing cert) the board is requesting to be sent directly by PRC. Some say on previous threads that it's the same as what they referred to as certificate of good standing. Is this what I should be asking when I go to PRC? Thank you to anyone who can shed light on this :)
ryan, already sent you the list of nursing homes in melbourne. 14 pages! :) hope you find a good place.
i haven't contacted the agency you gave me yet 'cause there was a filipina who contacted me, she works in a place doing the IRON. the course is $10,500. i said i don't have the money yet and she suggested that i join their agency to pay for it. i think it's a good deal. next class starts on september 7. any of you guys interested?
