  1. Hello guys, To those who were able to secure their student visa, how were you able to show evidence/access to funds? Will a bank statement from my aunt in the US suffice coz the funds will be coming from them. What other financial documents should be secured in relation to this? Please help. Thanks :)
  2. Thank you terdjay. I have asked the help of IDP. However, it won't be free anymore if I avail of their service at this point since I have already lodged my application on my own. They say they give the service for free if it was lodged by them. However, they can still process my application and visa papers but with a fee if I decide to course it thru them. ANyway, I might just do it on my own. BAsed on what you've said about work, am just hoping and praying that I'll be able to find work when there already. Hope that there will be many opportunities for us once we finish the conversion program and get our license :)
  3. Thank you terdjay for the feedback :) Will still try for the July intake if everything will go smoothly. I think ECU is also a good and reputable university. Really, is it hard to get a part time job there? How are you doing so far? Have you started with your classes at Curtin already??
  4. Hi guys, I'm also on the NMBWA route and I've read this thread. Seems that everyone prefers to do their one year conversion program in CUrtin. I'd like to know what can you say about Edith Cowan University?? It seems like a good university too like Curtin. The reason why I asked is that I already got my offer letter from this university for July intake and I am pressed for time in applying for my level 2 assessment 573 visa. Anyone who can guide me with the visa application? I will be doing this alone and not thru an agency... Hope anyone can help me.. Thanks!
  5. I'd like to know if anyone has already finished their bridging program and placement with VCHN? How was it?? Would like to know your experiences...
  6. does anyone know if we can pre-register already for the Rn residency program?
  7. hi to nykhouston2003: Thanks for the reply. I've already sent my board cert (initial registration cert) and PRC license copy (current practicing cert) to NMBWA. What I'm referring to is the verification of license (initial reg cert and current practicing cert) the board is requesting to be sent directly by PRC. Some say on previous threads that it's the same as what they referred to as certificate of good standing. Is this what I should be asking when I go to PRC? Thank you to anyone who can shed light on this :)
  8. Hi, to all those applying at NMBWA I have a question: Is the initial registration certificate and current practicing certificate the NMBWA is requiring from the PRC the same as the certificate of good standing? Is this what I should mention when I go to PRC? How much will be the cost for this?
  9. Hi to all! I was about to mail my application to WA today when I checked their website. Surprised to see updates effective July 1. I'd like to ask if it's ok to go ahead and send my application even if I am yet to take my IELTS? I have expired IELTS and I'm aware that I need to retake it again. Also, with regards to my certified documents, is the note "Certified True Copy" good enough? Or, should it really state "This is a true copy of the original which has been sighted by". All other information of the notary public is there (Signature, address, contact number). Anyone who just passed their application this July?
  10. After reading the entire length of this thread, I became enlightened with the tons of information I read. I first considered QNC however, I am now carefully considering registering for WA and hopefully take the bridging program. Thank you aelith for your selfless contribution in this thread. And thank you nursemavi. I am inspired with your WA move and would want to follow that same path. I hope you'll be able to guide me along the way. Many thanks!
  11. Hi everyone! Just want to share my experience in applying for registration at NZ. I sent my application to the Council Oct 2007 with complete requirements. Unfortunately after a long time of waiting, I received a letter from the Council last June 2008 stating that my nursing education wasn't comparable to theirs. I am a second courser and took nursing for 2 1/2 years here. I had my case appealed twice and sad to say again, last December 2008, they upheld with their original decision. It took more than a year for me to wait and to follow up on my application. They said if I still wish to pursue my registration, I needed to take undergraduate programme there. I've inquired with some NZ schools there. They said cross credits is possible. I've learned in some schools their nursing program is 3 years only. (Huh? To think, here it's 4 years. And in my case, I had almost 3 years of nursing here). I haven't gone further in enrolling and asking for more details as I'm undecided to pursue the NZ path because of this. It's just unfortunate that the new policy has been implemented. And so, second coursers will most likely have a hard time getting registratioin there. Anyone with the same case as mine? I'm wondering what course of action you've taken, too. Thanks.
  12. Hi! I am currently waiting for my NZ approval.. I gave all my requirements to my agency Oct 2007. And they sent it to NZNC right away. I emailed the nursing council if they got all of my requirements and they replied that they did( this was around Dec 2007). Its been 7 months since I applied and gave all my papers and until now still no approval from the Council... I followed up several times already with them and with the agency and both said that there had been a delay in sending the approval letter... just would like to know if this long wait is really normal??? Anyone who also has the same situation as mine?? Im just a bit worried...
  13. Hi, my pd is july 25 2007 and last apr 18, I got my I140 approval. It took almost 9 months for the approval. My case was filed at Texas Service Center.:wink2:
  14. anyone, another follow-up question regarding license renewal, do we have to earn a certain number of continuing education units as part of the requirement? also, does anyone know the requirements/procedures for IV license renewal???
