Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
hi angel!.. yup working as a volunteer nurse is also considered at HPH. :wink2:
Hi! Guys And Sofia, I have been lurking on this thread for quite a while now. I love this thread:)
Sofia, can I ask you something? After you submitted all the needed docs, how long did it take for the Letter of Eligibility to take the bridging program (from NMBWA). I hope you wont mind my asking it would be a great help.
Thanks and God Bless You
hi 4vida :) it took a little longer for me to receive my assessment letter from the NMBWA because unfortunately, my RLE was not attached to my TOR. I thought the TOR was already enough.. So, when i mailed my credentials & application form around first week of March, i received an acknowledgement by March 25, along with an advise to submit breakdown of theoretical and clinical hours, which i did around first week of april. Then I received my assessment letter last april 29. So to sum it up, it took me almost 2 months from the day that i mailed my application to receiving the assessment letter... It would be less if all the documents were submitted completely.. :)
hi, i'm new here but i've been reading this thread for few weeks now. I need your help coz i dont know where to go anymore. I just got a letter from NBV saying that i have to resend my TOR because they want the adddress and number of the person who notarized it. So i went back to the lawyer and asked him to put the add and tel number but he told me that he cant do it unless i have a letter that he will fill up from the board so he just attached his bussiness card on my TOR. I'm afraid that the board might not accept it again so if you know somebody who can notarize it with their add and tel number please let me know. I've been to 4 notary public and its the same, they dont want to put their add and number. please please help me.. thanks

You can also ask the registrar of your school to notarize it for you - they are allowed right since it came from them? They'll even put the dry seal of the school in there.

Thanks Sofia, for the immediate reply. So are you waiting for the Letter of Eligibility from MNBWA? or you have it already. I really want to have my BP in HPH same pathway you have. It would be nice if you keep me updated with your status if you don't mind. Thanks again and God Bless you.:)
hey sure no problem.. i'll keep you posted :)
i have the assessment letter already. Just waiting for the result of my application to HPH if i'll be included in the sept run. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed to be selected for the bridging program as they only accept 25 applicants per program, so it's really a little competitive.. i've also learned that out of the 25 applicants, they would just probably select 12 or 13 overseas nurses as they don't want too many foreign nurses whose first language is not english and who has limited acute nursing experience in one batch. The other half will be filled by RNs in australia who wants to return to nursing practice..
How about you? have you applied at NMBWA already?
i just received my assessment letter from qnc this morning and it states that my application is incomplete.
i lack the verification/certificate of good standing from prc, which i have requested from them to send it directly to qnc long before i pass my papers, assuming that it will take longer for them to send it. and unfortunately for me, it looks like my verification hasn't been sent yet. i guess i need to ask for another one this time.haayyyy:mad:
i have until sept. 16 to pass it.
