Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hi, Mam Nursemavi, How are you now??? Hope you are okay. Missed your updates in the thread, but I understand that you are quite busy now. Just saying hello. I am still hurdling with my IELTS (writing) score. hi hi hi. Not so lucky yet. Thanks and take care. GOD BLESS YOU & KEEP YOU SAFE ALWAYS. AND TO ALL YOU GUYS too.
Hi guys! Oh I'm sorry to hear that icejo. But at least that's the only requirement lacking :nuke:. Well yeah, next time just avail of the courier service coz that document is quite important. Mine was pretty fast. I had it sent thru Fed ex on a Monday and QNC received it Wednesday (2 days after).Anyway, just wanna say that I'm happy that I didn't get a score lower than 7! I really cried when I opened my envelope and found out that I passed. The best part was I managed to get a 9.0 in Listening! I also got 8.0 in Reading, 8.5 in Writing (this was really unexpected since I was so sure I messed up my Task 1) and 7.0 in Speaking. I really didn't expect to pass my Speaking because I felt that I didn't make any sense and that I was just shooting my mouth off at the time of the interview. I even had one loooong pause. Overall band score was 8.0. Yipee!!
Sorry mods if this is off-topic. Just really ecstatic that I can now start and concentrate on my CAS review. At least I don't have to worry about retaking. Heck I even considered taking the OET insted of
retaking (if ever I found out that I have a lower than 7) because I was really so anxious, thinking that I have to sit through IELTS again. To God be the glory! :anpom:[/quote}
To God be the glory! YES AMEN to that chocokat, I'm really happy for you. Give honor always to God who made it possible:yeah:I wish I can be lucky as you the next time I take my IELTS. Congrats and God bless you always.
Wow now I'm overwhelmed by your warm congratulations! Thanks guys! And thank you all for being patient with me with my queries. Hay... such a relief really.. . Thank you so much again! Now I'll be joining those who are patiently waiting for the assessment. I'm predicting..what? Maybe end of September no?
By the way, haven't seen uh_huh around lately... I actually owe her a lot too as she had been really very helpful and she even sent me some tips on IELTS.
Thanks thanks thanks again people!

Hi! Patuman01, When are you going to take your IELTS again? I think we have the same taboo..hehehe. Let's just hope that God will show us the way and make it easier to us.
4vida: hi! im not considering DOH because I've worked in a hospital for only 1 1/2 years and 7 months in a clinic so i don't think i'm qualified to apply there.. But yeah they differ in BP fee, the DOH's BP is more expensive with AUD 2,000+ while in HPH, it costs AUD 1,100.. Good luck in your IELTS exam! :paw:chocokat: congratulations! To God be the Glory indeed!
Hi! Sofia, Why don't we ask some information about DOH? I think they don't have quota for those who wants take the BP in their hospital. Oh! but you're already applied in HPH and waiting for your slot right?. Okay then just be patient. I hope I'll get lucky with my next Ielts exams. I'll let you know if things will go smoothly:D
thanks aelith and 4vida for the replies. i"m in here in the philippines, i'll do ur suggestion on monday. thanks again.
hi patuman01, i had the same fate with ielts. what i did was to try OET, fortunately i was able to get B in all subtests. the writing part is much easier than ielts because you just have to write a referral letter. just wanna share.. good luck!!!
OK, ppl here comes another one. I recently graduated (Associate Degree) from USA. As you may already know this, in USA you can practice as a RN after your Associate degree, of course after taking the board which i have taken by the way. My question is how does my RN status from USA transforms into Australian health care system, since i am planning to work in Australia. Looking forward to hear from you

I think they do have a limited slot at DOH because one of the members of this forum who applied at NMBWA also inquired there and was informed that they don't have any available slots left for the BP or something like that.. ok dear keep me posted with your progress Good luck in your next ielts exam! God Bless :paw:

Hello mutoomutoo :)
As far as I know they do recognize your RN license from USA. For more information, since I am not 100% sure about your case, please find below the link to NSW NMB to check your eligibility:
