Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hi Icejo, most of the posters here are actually doing the application process on their own. it is a lot safer because you correspond directly with the institutions and universities. and haven't noticed anyone mentioning Sawsee here... :)
There was one girl before. I don't know what happened to her.
it depends really. say for example, for someone out of the country and wouldn't want to spend that much, cas is cheaper and more convenient since you will need to finish most of it out of australia. however, for some people who likes being in a classroom environment and would like to feel how it is in australia plus the advantage of being able to scout for possible employers whilst in australia, some cheap bps are good for this.regarding nbv's bps, the tuition is far more greater compared to qnc's cas. also, you have to factor in the living expenses you will incur while doing the bp. however, a lot are going that route now since it takes less time to process the papers for nbv, hence, they will be able to start/finish the bp faster compared to those still waiting for qnc. this can change, if the surge of applicants will shift from qnc to nbv.
how long is the bp of nbv anyway? 6 months? after one finishes the bp is he/she still required to take a sort of like board exam of the particular state (victoria for instance)? hmmm.... it got me thinking now... but i already submitted my qnc application last tuesday and just today they have charged my card with their fee. so i guess for now i'll just have to stick to my plan.
thanks aelith!
hi guys! i know this is kinda out of topic but i 'm just curious. i watched "imbestigador" last night and one of their feature stories was sawsee intl. the owner of sawsee was arrested because of illegal recruitment, although they initially said that they are not a recruitment agency. 3 people filed complaint against them, they are not nurses. i think they're more like hospitality and tourism students. they claim that sawsee promised them a student visa but after almost a year waiting and 100 plus thousand pesos they still dont have student visas and the job promised by the said firm.:nono:
have we heard anything from those people here who have signed up at sawsee?
hi there icejo! well i have seen one poster say that she availed of the services of sawsee. i 'm not sure if its in this thread or the other one "any queensland nurses here?". but i am pretty sure that she said that she's already in australia or about to go to australia in a few days (when she posted her comment) although not in qld (qnc) but in victoria i think (not so sure though). i think one commenter said some negative things about sawsee and she responded with something like yeah they charge much but i still thank them because they have helped me... something like that. anyway gee... that's bad for the 3 people. shelling out that amount of money only to wait for nothing. aren't student visas granted as soon as there's a school or uni who accepts you already? for sure, being made to wait for 1 year is a very bad sign that the company has already pocketed their money. hay...

it depends on which provider you are going to enroll with but an average of 11-12 weeks can be expected. there is no board exam in australia however, cas offers a pathway similar to it with fewer questions and a practical component.
good luck dear~

student visas are not automatically granted if you have an acceptance letter - that is only one part of it. most denied cases of student visas are due to not being able to satisfy the financial requirement. it is scary whatever happened to those applicants, and that's why everyone should be very careful.

me, 5 more days to make it 3 months of waiting..m dying to hear from them. whats the date on your acknowledgment letter icejo ? hope the rest of you guys are doing well especially does beginning with their applications. chocokat hows your ielts ?

well, hehehe, in my case, I lodged my application Feb 25, received my acknowledgment March 5, received the assessment result June 8. Unfortunately, I have to send a breakdown of my thoretical hours from my school since I'm a second course. So I will. Tedious, lengthy process, but the fruit smells madnificent! P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E
I emailed NBV about my application after my first amendment and she said i should receive my assessment letter before July 12, 2009 because they received my ammended application form in June 12. I hope everything's fine...
Anyway, Is 200,000 enough financial requirement for a 3-4 month's stay in Australia? I have corresponded with Deakin and they said i should apply for a student visa and not a short-stay visa...
