Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hi everyone!
I've just requested for verification from the PRC this morning. They said that if they mail it directly to NBV, it may take 2-3 weeks. They do not have any faster mailing service apart from the regular mail. They said that if I want to use LBC or whatever courier service, I have to do it myself. It is ok to just get the document from PRC and send it with all the other requirements NBV requires through LBC? Or NBV will not accept the verification unless its sent by PRC directly?
Another thing, since our school records will be certified as true copy by a notary public, do i still have to have it certified as true copy and stamped with dry a seal by the school registrar? I'm trying to cut some cost by not having it dry sealed by the school anymore.
How did you guys do it? I'm hoping that I'll be able to get an endorsement from NBV by the end of August.
Thanks a million!

Hi there liwa! I'm really not familiar with what NBV wants but I think what they're asking for with regards to the certification of your documents from the notary public is just the same with that of QNC (where I lodged my application). With the help of other people here, I have already submitted mine last tuesday :wink2:. Anyway, they say that you don't need to have your TOR certified by your school then certified again by a notary public. Just photocopy the original TOR that you have with you then let the notary public notarize it. But I think one member here said that it's also okay if you let the notary public certify one copy that has been already certified to be a true copy of your TOR by your school registrar. But... kinda redundant, huh? Anyway, I just followed what most people advised. That is to just photocopy the originals and have them notarized. But of course, you really have to show the notary public your original documents. My lawyer was kinda OC about the whole thing. He really examined my originals front and back before notarizing each !
Anyway, goodluck with your application! God bless us!
is the bridging program the same with the Challenge Test or Modules?if not, how are they different??
They have similar content but different procedures. CAS' Challenge test pathway is just comprised of 2 exams - Theoretical and Clinical. Modules are however, more similar to the other Bridging programs since it is not just about taking exams - the applicant is oriented to the workplace and are assessed with the different components vital for registration. Modules on the other hand tho, can be done in any place in the world as long as you have an internet and a pc for the theoretical part and the clinical part in Queensland, while all other BPs are supposed to be done from start to finish with the BP provider in Australia.

So it is really safe to say that QNC's pathway is more or less easier or more practical to do, right? I'va also been curious about talk regarding the NBV bridging program but I think I will have to spend more if I take that route, right?

It depends really. Say for example, for someone out of the country and wouldn't want to spend that much, cas is cheaper and more convenient since you will need to finish most of it out of Australia. However, for some people who likes being in a classroom environment and would like to feel how it is in Australia plus the advantage of being able to scout for possible employers whilst in Australia, some cheap bps are good for this.
Regarding NBV's BPs, the tuition is far more greater compared to QNC's CAS. Also, you have to factor in the living expenses you will incur while doing the BP. However, a lot are going that route now since it takes less time to process the papers for NBV, hence, they will be able to start/finish the BP faster compared to those still waiting for QNC. This can change, if the surge of applicants will shift from QNC to NBV.
hi guys! i know this is kinda out of topic but i 'm just curious. i watched "imbestigador" last night and one of their feature stories was sawsee intl. the owner of sawsee was arrested because of illegal recruitment, although they initially said that they are not a recruitment agency. 3 people filed complaint against them, they are not nurses. i think they're more like hospitality and tourism students. they claim that sawsee promised them a student visa but after almost a year waiting and 100 plus thousand pesos they still dont have student visas and the job promised by the said firm. :nono:
have we heard anything from those people here who have signed up at sawsee?

hi icejo, most of the posters here are actually doing the application process on their own. it is a lot safer because you correspond directly with the institutions and universities. and haven't noticed anyone mentioning sawsee here... :)

Oh if resident, you'd need to apply through UAC if I'm not mistaken. That's a different process because u'll be competing for a place in the uni together with all HS grads in that specific state too.
goodluck dear~
